Mikey, thank you for pointing out where you messed up stitches, because I, too, messed up stitches. Your tutorial is great because it shows me how to keep going without frogging, because I'm not about to do all of that. I already made my 24 snowflakes, it is what it is. Great job, love your tutorials.
Not one is perfect and perfection is overrated. It's better to show making a mistake and how to fix it then pretend it doesn't happen.

I love this beautiful Scandinavian design--partly due to my Norwegian roots, I guess. :) The video tutorial is very well done, even with a sense of humor, and the written instructions make it all that much easier to stitch. The pattern is very intuitive, thoughtful, and easy to follow along. My only suggestion is that crocheters count stitches to make everything come out just right, otherwise knowing how to fake it is the next best thing. Thank you very much for this pattern and tutorial.
A thing I do with motifs that don't have any raised texture is I leave those center ring tails on until I join so I can easily see what is the wring side. I love this pattern and am making another one for a friend. Thank you!
I leave the center tail out so the wrong side is easy to see. Then I hide them at the end.

I fell in love with this blanket and knew I had to make it. I started it yesterday and have 3 hexagons done so far. I love it and have been making it in coral ombre and white. I love the way it's turning out. Thanks so much Mikey. I know I will be making many more of your afghans. Your the best.

You had me at ‘a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do’ lol. When I first started crochet I struggled a lot and barely finished everything. I thought every stitch had to be perfect. I didn’t start finishing projects until I let go of that and figured out how to work with the mistakes. Occasionally have to pull it out but not as often :) awesome video, I’m going to make a snowflake blanky next!

A long time ago I saw a Snowflake afghan on the back of a couch on 'The Big Bang Theory'. This looks so much like it. I have been looking for one to do and I think this will fit the bill. Again,... Thank you Mikey! All done in red and white! However, I did 72 snowflakes and assembled them in a more "square" configuration! It's absolutely spectacular!

Beautiful throw! I found the attachment of the squares to be difficult. I wish you would have gone into a bit more detail. Also, it would be nice if the changes in the video were updated in the pattern. I love your designs Mikey you are very talented!

I made this using white, light blue and teal. It came out beautifully.

I'm working on this right now and it's turning out great! Thanks for the awesome pattern! I did notice that when doing the first and second red rows when starting it off it said to chain and then also do the 3 single crochet. I tried doing it with only doing 2 single crochet in the first loop since I already did the one chain and the problem of too many stitches isn't happening anymore. I hope this helps!

Hi I was wondering how many motifs we need to make in order to make the Afghan, as well as how much yarn that would be
I use Google its and 8 x15 for a throw
I made 15 that’s not enough heads up
CaN this be made with double knit wool 100 gram balls or would it turn out smaller

If you click the link in the description box on the video, it says how big each one is, how many you need to make, and how much yarn you need.
I think that extra stitch when adding the red border comes from putting two right next to eachother, maybe chaining 4 stitches (instead of 3) and SC in every third stitch (instead of every second) and omitting the two single crochets in the middle would fix it, ..

I think I'm going to do this in a cornflower blue and a navy or denim blue. Or a deep blue and an off white.

Ok Mickey, tell us how to overcome the problem of a border being out of sync, i.e.: the border that has the chain 4, when we come to wrap and chain 1, when the border is slightly out and you have ' faked ' it.
I was going well with all this till one of my borders was not long enough !
Best part of this is crocheting the snowflake ---- for me anyway.

Yes, just divide the hexagon in half and stay on the front side of the work. So start and stop the rows on the right side.

I plan to make this afghan but I'm wonder how you might advise changing up the design at 16:54, so there isn't such a large hole. Would a double crochet cross stitch work in the previous row of white? If I do that, would I need to do two together triple crochet with a 3 chain picot in the middle, when I do the first row of red?
Honestly, I think you should try your method and see if that works for you. Improvise the pattern a bit to solve what is bothering you about the pattern. Seems like you have some ideas to try, so go with your gut. That's what I would do.

I’m confused. In your video, you show the first row of finishing (after joining all the motifs) as DCs. But the written pattern at the link below says “ch 1. 2 sc in same so as sl st. Work 2 sc in each ch-2 so around”...etc. so I’m confused. Which is it?
Just go by the pattern. Sounds to me I goofed up. The patterns are always the rule to follow when there is a discrepancy.

My two cents: Don't crochet tightly otherwise those single crochet bits will kill you on the next round. Also I don't like the assembly line business. If you make a mistake on the white part for 26 pieces you'll be in hell. take time to complete them all one by one so you know each one is correct and you don't have to go over it again.

I spent a full week and a bunch of many on yarn just to reach a point of not knowing how to put this together! Why would you go through the whole tutorial and not show how it is sewn together? I will never try another pattern of yours.
You go way to fast. Can't keep up with you. Shouldn't have to constantly pause to have to catch up, or always have to go back. Nice pattern but we're not all you or as experienced.
