It's an emotional song, even without nostalgia. The lyrics are pretty dense. I still remember the first time I paid any attention to what the song said 😢 (it was in the background of my entire childhood, but I never listened until I was much older)

Sir Elton John has been my favorite male vocalist since I got a Greatest Hits tape for Christmas when I was twelve. (I think it was Christmas; it might have been a birthday present though. And yes, it was a cassette; CD's hadn't caught on just yet; this was the early 90's) To do a song like this one justice is to pay homage to one of the greatest performers that has ever lived. Then you went back and recorded it it with FULL FORCE and you gave me goosebumps and I cheered and said "YES!!! That's what I knew you could give!"
