Thanks, i’m getting better I can’t believe it’s been 3 years and it’s still rough getting through the day. I’m working now on getting my shop more organized so I can start making more videos.
Hey what’s up, yeah it sucks selling them sometimes. That one belongs to a friend he wanted it shined up. So we comet washed it with scotch Brite, and finished it off with flood Penetrol
@@tauiwi I can’t honestly answer this question. The rubbers around the windows and doors are already shot. The truck could use a complete restoration. But that out of the owners budget, it’s out of a lot of our budgets. I would tape off your rubber if you’re concerned about them. Just wash first and then tape after they dry.
I’m curious to know how much this stuff streaks. I just put Poppys Patina gloss on my f100 and it looks like shit. Thinking about sanding it off and trying Penetrol
It streaked pretty bad at first. But I got it wiped down to a thinner coat. Then finished with a thinner coat and looked a lot better. I applied a second coat after the first coat dried This truck has heavy flaking from multiple paint jobs so if it did streak it’s didn’t stand out as bad. May try a foam brush see if it wouldn’t help level your product.
@@NickH80 i sprayed it on my 1965 combine specifically for better rust protection. I used a pump sprayer and it didnt look horrible. but if it was a car a actual paint gun would probably work quite well. Its just as easy to wipe it on like HD did. Just wipe it on and leave it, the more you go over and over the worse it streaks.
Flood penetrol is good but it's tacky, The dust sticks to it in the summer time and it's hard to take off, I just took it off my car and hopefully this other stuff I'm about to put on doesn't collect dust.
Turned out great. I use soap filled Brillo pads to prep for penetrol “the ones for stainless steel and glass”.
Awesome I’ll try those next time.
Great job!!
Sorry to hear about your breathing issues after Covid. Thanks for the video!

Howdy, just found ya over at SCC! I just sold my old '63 F100, sadly...but it went to a good home!

Have you noticed how it interacts with rubber? i.e. will it eat door/window rubbers where that gets touched?

Put poppies on my 58 apache, that stuff was awful, liked to never get it off, only thing that would was gas,had a weird white glaze on it.
That’s not patina, that’s spit. 😂
@hdsquarebodyandmore.3592 would it be possible to spray it on?

Awesome job! You should try those soap filled S.O.S pads.
10/4 I’m going to do my 1 ton next

Personally, I would have taken a DA to that truck to get some of that green to shine thru.
@@scottrodcustoms1 i believe we’re going to sand it now and clear coat it.
