I have used numerous styles of pincushions in these past 61 years. Not once have I been comfortable with the wrist mounted styles. May be free AND rather pretty. Yet none have proven to be of any additional value. I am thrilled to see so many younger ones even interested in this highly customized skill that is used in the very best of the best in custom clothing, automotive upholstery and the curtains -drapes. PLEASE , never allow ANY to devaluate your skills and efforts. Throughout my many decades of doing custom clothing sewing. I have donated my beautiful work to charity rather than sit back and be insulted by the low ball offers of creeps. Please do value yourself 🙂 and your excellent work. YOU are "a pearl of great value". Excuse my typing . Arthritis is NOT my friend!
Your projects are adorable. It would help from a teaching perspective to show the finished project at the beginning of the tutorial, rather than waiting to the end.
If you want to see the finished product fast faward it it's not hard ...I'm just grateful she takes the time to teach us if I knew better I wouldn't be watching it thank you for your time 😊
Beautiful and I inspirational. I often look at those super expensive Cadillac sewing machines and want one, but you remind me of the creative things that can be done with a regular machine like mine. Thank you for that.
I like the flower pin cushion being a flower because I use wonder clips and pins so I can clip them both to the flower with it having petals. Definitely need to make me one of these. ❤
@@bunniesandroses499 that’s crazy! Yeah my clips were about 5 dollars a bag but that was years ago. Keep searching other places. Quilt shops carry them also.
@@apiecemaker1163 oh thank you for your reply, I live in the US about 2 hours from Chicago, and I was thinking I could sew alot of clothes for $75 !!!!!!!!!!!! God Bless and happy sewing
@@bunniesandroses499, I got mine on line, not mentioning the name of the giant (They’re not taking a return from me! 😬) Try a dollar store, they have everything…or type on search to find a deal.
@@bunniesandroses499 What store did you go to where they were sooo expensive ? I'm almost positive you can get the clips for much cheaper than that. Just look up "wonder clips" online, and, surely you will find a cheaper version of them. How many clips were in that set you mentioned, though ? Before I paid that price, it would have to be at least a thousand of them. Hope you can find 'em cheaper cause they are nice to be able to use when you have any kind of fabric you don't want to put holes in - such as silk or even some rayon fabrics. Hope this helps you out. 👍
I just LOVE the little tea cup purse!! So creative and cute!! ❤ AND, don’t change how YOU present your content! 😊 this is YOUR channel and you should do things how YOU want to. ❤
Hiya 🌞, just wanted to say lve made these and some as coffee cup shapes ,and put instant coffee and tea sachets for all my sewing group friends as a Christmas gift! My neighbour thinks theyre great too,and asked me to make some for her teaching associates! Great to put in ones sachel for our tea breaks! Many thanks, J.I.M.K Mrs. Brisbane, Australia 🇦🇺 ♥ 😀 👍
I love those ideas, thank you! Also, regarding the critics, I think you showing us what to do with scrap fabric is great, because I have a lot of scraps. If you want to use hot glue or whatever, who cares, right? If some doesn’t like that idea, they can do it their way, and you continue to do it you way, because they turned out beautifully! I do all kinds of crafts, to take to craft shows, I have made some sewing projects where I used a little hot glue, and have had many repeat customers, it was never a problem! Thank you so much again!!
Love these projects. I specially love the teacup "purse." I collect miniature tea sets myself, and, the purse pattern would also make a nice item to display them on. TYSM for the inspiration to create different things such as these. They're so pretty. 😉
I am in process of making 12 year old granddaughter school dance dress. I will use the wrist cushion pattern to make wrist corsage. Instead of adding stuffed ball, I will add a sparkling center piece. Quick and easy. She will love it. Thank you immensely. 😊
Both of these projects are adorable! I was led to the tea cup purse tonight by destiny because my 3-yr-old grandchild is about to have a tea party for her birthday, and she will adore a little purse like that. One suggestion: The little strips can be foundation pieced onto the fabric backing and then the two longer strips added. I would start in the middle in order to help keep them straight. I don't know if it will be easier that way or not, but I'll try it. I love your way of stuffing the handle with fabric bits. I would not have thought of that, Thanks for offering this tutorial!
One suggestion about the velcro tab on the pin cushion: make the "hook" tab shorter than the "fuzzy" one. Then align them so the hook is about in the middle of the fuzzy one. That way if you need to tighten or loosen the bracelet (eg if you're wearing a sweater or you loan it to someone with a different size arm), the hook part is always all engaged in the fuzzy part. It will save your sweater and your arm from scratches. I, too, would likely sew rather than hot glue the components and I like the suggestion of adding a hard backing on the cushion part. Thanks for the cute projects!
Great ideas, especially the tea cup zipper pouch! Great gift idea. I agree with another comment that you should show the finished products first, then how to make it. I appreciate the time it took to make this video. Thank you.
Thank you so much Thuy, I really really enjoyed watching you creating these gorgeous and stunning thing’s. My favourite is the wrist pincushion, I really really love ❤️ it. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Thank you for the ideas using scrap fabric- screwdrivers - who knew ! Going to the hardware store to get some of these neat “ sewing tools “ . New subscriber. Greetings from Nova Scotia Canada 🦋🇨🇦
So I like the idea of the pin cushion as well as the overall look of it. I don't get though why you'd go through the effort of sewing a great band only to use hot glue to attach the cushion? I'd also recommend some sort of cardboard in the bottom of the cushion to help prevent sticking yourself with a pin when you're in the middle of sewing and about to drop your project and you quickly jab the pin in the cushion so you can catch the project that's about to fall.
I think the whole purpose of the video was for her to show you a quick idea of what you could do with your scraps. If you wanna get particular and meticulous about how you bring your project to life that’s up to you but to be critical about someone else’s efforts, because she didn’t do things the way you think that she should have. It’s just rude and you missed the whole point of the video.
Both are very cute ideas and I agree with you about the hot glue. I’d rather just hand stitch and use a little piece of cardboard. Hot glue doesn’t always hold and the buildup makes it sometimes lumpy or bumpy. Not criticizing either…just don’t like to use hot glue on fabric because of past experience.
Спасибо. Красивая идея. Мне, думается, что на липучке в самый неподходящий момент может расстегнуться, сейчас большой выбор широких резинок, можно подобрать.
It would look great as a purse too but I'd add a body strap beside the zipper. Make the long strap removable. Then you can hold the tea cup handle to carry the purse. I'm sorry..you probably figured out what I meant after I said purse. My family think I explain in detail too much..like I treat them like the young children I used to teach. So many years of teaching makes it a habit gard to brake.😉👋👋

A piece of a steel wool pad in place of the cotton ball will help keep your pins sharp…really cut craft!
