  • Three Black Columbus Police officers talked with the Dispatch this week about their feelings being on the front line of the police brutality protests in downtown Columbus. One of them was officer Phillip Jackson, who has patrolled his boyhood neighborhood of Linden for 14 years. He took a particular verbal barrage from one woman on the first night of the protests.

Don't pay these fools any attention. Most people with any sense, respect the job you men and women do. Stay strong.

Thank you Office Phillip Jackson for serving our city! I'm praying for all of you who are Police Officers. It is so sad to see what is going on. Currently, I live in the Hilltop and I know all of you put your lives on the line along with seeing how some of you serve the city of Columbus! You are so right we need to be better as people no matter the race or social class we come from! Praying for our city!

To the people calling to "Defund the Police". I don't think you will like the people who will replace them. They won't cost any money, but compared to this officer, they will be Monsters from your worst nightmare.

I do not see how people can hate the police this much like they seem to do!
Or be so offended or triggered if a police officer looks a certain way they didn't expect.
Without the police, even if some police officers may not be the best person for the job, I belive without a doubt that even the so called "Bad cops" for the most part do their job as expected.
Without the police a country would be a disaster.
If a police officer alledgedly one bad thing, even before the investigation the media take advantage of that and destroys that officers life, and all beacuse of their headlines and finacial gain.
Guess what, the police officer you are shouting and hating on, might be the neighbour you don't say hello to or the police officer that rescued an important person to you.
The officer might even be a person who contributed more to the world than most people you know did.
    Police are NOT
    A racist cult
    There to hurt you
    Awful people
They are there to uphold the LAW and order, if anybody is doing something illegal they must intercept.
The concept is not a difficult to understand.
So if you are angry understand the above and do not put yourself and other at risk by being a fool, be civil and talk.
You will get alot longer doing that.

All the good things you do are tarnished by the one or two times you saw another officer do wrong and didn’t do anything about it. People are not saying we don’t want the police. We want to get pulled over not in fear but in security. There are many good stories but there are too many very bad stories. Try to prevent the bad stories from happening and see how people respond.

There's a lot wrong with Marxism, but there is some good: the idea that we need a classless society and we need to help eradicate poverty. The majority of the world's wealth is owned by so few whilst millions are poverty stricken. Pure capitalism is just as bad because everything is geared towards the acquisition of wealth, with little thought for those who don't even have a roof over their heads. Trump is the embodiment of wealth, entitlement and of the ruling class. The BLM movement are about peaceful protests, but there's frequently a minority who want to disrupt, fight and loot, that that have nothing to do with BLM. It's not just about Floyd's murder it's about the fact that black people and other ethnic groups are twice as likely to be stopped, searched and be arrested. We live in the 21st Century, yet there is still racial inequality, it's obscene.

Officer Jackson, you and your fellow officers recruited the people that you were facing one at a time over the years.
Internally you feel like you are a good guy but don’t you think many of the citizen abused by police are good guys as well? Your conduct towards the citizens are based on snap shot judgements at the time of your encounter and most often that is not a good encounter. You are crying because they are making snap shot judgements of you while forgetting you made the same judgements of the citizens.
Back in the locker room, you and your fellow officers laughed and joked about how you mistreated some citizen, overlooking the fact that you planted a negative seed in the population. Their anger didn’t start on your watch, it was brewing long before you entered the force and you knew it because you faced it as a child yourself. The anger erupted on your watch so just face it.
