The marsh is central character of the book as well... Hence why its imagery is so pungent.
What's your thoughts on the movie trailer released this week?

I just finished it. 5 stars. My next book is The Girls in the Stilt House. 😊

The book is a tad slow, but I think that lends to the essence of marsh life. But oh, do I love an underdog story! The only triggers I had were the mental tricks that Chase used on Kya. I had to take a pause in those areas. The author gave a well illustrated analogy between male and female firefly interactions that beautifully showed how it works in nature. I also remembered that scene and it served as a warning for Kya and Chase's "relationship." Well done!

This book is wildly over-hyped. Mundane. Draging. It's self indulging. Highly predictable end.
