My apology: I mentioned that the bass has to be tuned A4 = 446 Hz in the beginning of my video, but this must be A = 442Hz. Your bass just need to be tuned a little bit higher. Sorry for my mistake.
Such a well-known song and such a great bassline to play! It’s got a challenging tempo; groove; the song transposes a couple of times; it’s got syncopation (Bridge 2 bars 51-53) and above all: it’s got soul!
The older version of Think (with Aretha Franklin) is much more laidback (and also a joy), but in this version you have to be right on top with the bass. Nothing laidback here; it’s playing in the beat and playing really tight. It’s fun! Enjoy!
I play this song on a Fender Precision (USA1976) with flatwound strings. Standard tuning E A D G. No effects used except a bit compression and a pre-amp. Don’t forget to tune your bass just a little bit higher (A4 = 442 Hz).
    Bass: Donald ‘Duck’ Dunn
From the Movie The Blues Brothers (1980)
    Composers: Aretha Franklin, Ted White

Fun song. Another kicking Duck Dunn bass line. I assume that you retuned your bass for A=446. Right?

@@TheMaartian Hi John, thanks! In the text below my videos I always mention (unless I forget it 😉) on which bass I play; the tuning and if it’s not concert pitch ( A = 440 Hz). In this case it’s 442 Hz during my recording. But the tricky thing is that internet (or RUclips) sometimes causes difference in pitch while/after uploading the video. I can’t control that. So you’ll always have to trust your own ears. So if 446Hz works for you, please do so. Have fun! Pete 🎶🎵

@@basscoverpete At 0:09 when the tab first appears, the boxed text above bar 6 reads A4 = 446 Hz. That's why I asked.
