Gliding is the purest form of aviation, flying with an engine is cool but when you are in the air and circling in an updraft and you see some birds circling with you in the same updraft, its just magical.

Ohne Motor, gleiche Geschwindigkeit und ein Kunstflugprogramm ...... da nehm ich den Hut ab, Freunde. Astounding performance ! I can't imagine the skills it requires to be able to fly this program in close formation with only air breaks and no thrust control to adjust fot the distance with your wingman. That's brilliant and beautifull ! And these aircrafts are gorgeous !
FANTASTIC DISPLAY! - PARTICULARLY IMPRESSED WITH THE 'MIRROR' section (one inverted and flying incredibly close to each other) - rather you than me!! These are such beautiful aircraft, I was lucky enough to fly in one several times back in the 1960s at Haddenham Airfield in Oxfordshire (now very sadly closed after many years of historic glider activity there. Amazing skillful display. Used to fly one at Nympsfield 1976 to 1977. Often wonder if upgraded L23 is as good as the original L13 Blanik. John FAI/BGA 51417. Still flying and gliding after 57 years.
Very beautiful and graceful display! The smoke sequence is cool. I think we perhaps lost something along the road with the capabilities of modern aerobatic gliders. I flew the Blanik L13 1976 at the Boeing gliderclub in Seattle. They then had 3 of them if I remember it right. Brings back memories watching this. Sadly I understand moost of the L13:s are now grounded due to metal fatigue issues.

My first glider ride was in a Blanik L-13. I have also flown one from the back seat which is much easier than the front. I also have flown the newer L-23 which is a fiberglass ship. My instructor in the L-23 was the Commander at Edwards Air Force base.
Here is a link to a couple of slide shows of a plane I got to fly in the summer of 2018. Took an hour if instruction. Did two aileron rolls. L-23 Super Blanik isn't fiberglass...it's aluminum, just as the original L-13 Blanik was aluminum.
