Jean-François Dandrieu - Offertoire for Easter on O Filii et Filiae

In this video I am playing the Variations on “O filii et filiae” by Jean-François Dandrieu, famous French Baroque composer.
It is interesting to note the title of these Variations: “Offertoire sur les grands jeux pour la fête de Pâques”. This is because at the time this mystical moment of the Mass, the Offertory, was much longer and it was customary to enrich it with pieces of great artistic depth. Today, especially in Italy, it would be unthinkable to propose an 8-minute piece at the Offertory, therefore its performance can be postponed to the end of the Mass.
The theme of these Variations is the well-known Christian hymn “O filii et filiae”, proper of Easter.
Once again, history teaches us on which deep roots the musical heritage of the Church is based.
Welcome to this RUclips channel aimed at providing some quality online documentation concerning the "Camillo Guglielmo Bianchi" organ located in the Consolata Sanctuary, Turin (Italy).
Audio or audio-video file will be regularly uploaded, all recorded LIVE.
The sound will be captured with Zoom H5 audio recorder (96kHz / 24bit), while footage will be filmed with Canon EOS 5D Mark IV.
The intent is to create a database of the musical literature performed by me, titular organist in this prestigious sanctuary, right during the religious services along the Liturgical Year or during the organ auditions, between one Mass and another.
