Not really in any groups. I dont know if there is a per say limit to the split pin crank. Many high performance v10 use a split pin crank without issue. Most cases of crank braking is from forced induction and using a shitty hand held tuner. I wonder how many fail due to bad tuning and not it being weak. I was going to 5200rpm and that was mainly because the cams not making anymore power past 4700rpm.
I've never heard the Ford V-10 sounds like this, usually it has a distinctive howl & scream at high rpms. Maybe there is a misfire or the timing is a bit off?

Sounds just like a V8 just more badass lol. I love it. I randomly thought "why is there not any triton swapped mustangs or anything??" I get they're sorta uncommon but the specs on them are decent. (400+ tq and 360hp I think). Fully built I feel like they'd be able to handle and make tons of power..
Physical size. I have a BBF Capri and they're actually smaller engines than the V10 physically. Also, not many performance parts. You're pretty much limited to headers, ported stock heads (unsure what valve sizes you can fit), and re-ground stock cams, unless someone is offering some performance cams out there. The reason LS engines are so popular is because they are the size of a 302 and they weigh less. Unfortunately the 6.8 doesn't fit in much more than pickups and a couple cars. I always wanted one in a Crown Vic just for fun, but one of the new 7X engines will be my choice when the time comes. 445 cubic inches at under 600 lbs with the size of a 351W is pretty hard to argue with, when coupled with badass factory heads and a stout ass block and forged crankshaft.
@@ChevyConQueso Yeah the new Ford 7.0L looks like it's gonna be a beast. Once people start getting their hands on that motor it'll be interesting. Right now the prices are insane for one lol. But yeah I've always wanted to make a fast Crown Vic. I had a CVPI for my first car, and a Marquis later. Ever since then I've had a soft spot for the panther platform. And nowadays, people want 4-5 grand or more for a beat ass one lol.
Sadly I went little too hard on the throttle pedal and wrote the car off. The next chassis that gets the engine won't likely have the itbs. Maybe just two big throttle bodies.

Its the itbs.
@@Nodarperformance aaaaahhhh gotcha! I was gonna say. I worked at a Ford dealership 20 years ago & drove many V-10 s, never heard one like yours
@@BrownBomber92181 yeah this one is defiantly unique
I wanna see more of this fucking monster please
Is this the 3 valve or 2 valve version? How much power is she making? I have so many questions 🤯
It is 2v pi. There is a video on our channel of it on the dyno. It made 340ish horse power and 440 torques. I have forgotten the exact numbers.
What transmission are you using? It sound so good I’m putting one of these in my galaxie.
At the time of the video it was a tko600 but originally it was a t45 from a 96+ mustang gt with the 4.6l
@@Nodarperformance thank you! Your build here really inspired me. I’m picking my v10 up tomorrow.
Que caja de cambios usaste con ese motor??
96+ mustang. Then later I used a tko600 because I found one cheap.
I plan on doing this to my 08 mustang
How did you do your stand alone ecu/ecm? Ihave one from a F53 chassis & have the computer but need a pinout to the harness.
I cut open the harnessm reused the factory connectors and used new wire from diyautotune. It has labels printed on the wires and then just ran the wires where they needed to go on the ECU and relay board. It was pretty simple. Seemed easier and have more potential for power then the factory ecu
Amazing just amazing!!!!
HOLY SH*T!!!!!!! 😍😍😍
I'm in the process of stuffing a v10 in my 67 falcon would I be able to get that megasquirt profile off of you boss. It would save me a lot of set up time!
Not sure what I have will help. I used a lot of parts off different cars
@Nodarperformance fair enough. Mind telling me about your set up? The research I've been doing says the crank trigger I one of a biggest issues using megasquirt on an even fire v10.
I gotta put a 6.8 into a bumpside F100 some day. That would be too cool.
Best time to start was yesterday. Second best time is today
@@Nodarperformance Nah, today probably isn't a good time. Maybe once I finish the automotive mechanical engineering program I start next year. Then I'll have a lot more skills.
How hard was it to squeeze this into a small chassis? I really want to do something like this to a 58 volvo pv444
It was a pain to get it in. This chassis does have fairly narrow shock towers. Really put a hamper any form of an decent header.
That thing is fucking awesome man
It certainly was ruclips.net/video/hgP7DMav4XI/видео.html
That tickling sound is the gasoline system correct?
At this time it was running of batch fuel injection. So it was firing all the injectors at once. So yes the loud ticking or clacking is from the fuel system
I knew thoes were prelude seats haha I have one and I was like no wayyyyy
did you sell/give the shell to someone who could do something with it?
No, this was the cars last dance. I doubt anyone else would have got it back in the road after many butchered repairs previous owners had done.
Its way easier to make more power by slapping a turbo on a 4.6l. Its defiantly a fun motor that I am glad ford made.
Dude! Itb 6.8 is the most badass homebrew I've heard to date. What itbs are you running ?
They are four sets of triumph inline three motorcycle throttled bodies. I cut one throttle body off two of the sets.
Sadly I went little too hard on the throttle pedal and wrote the car off. The next chassis that gets the engine won't likely have the itbs. Maybe just two big throttle bodies.
@@Nodarperformance sorry to hear that, I saw the video of it getting towed onto the flat bed earlier today. That is one mad Max v10 lmao. Hope to see the next build up and running soon eh
@@DamienDemiGod hoping the new chassis has wider shock towers so I might be able to run something aside from log manifolds
@@Nodarperformance Is there a video or are there images out there of this particular intake arrangement? Asking for a friend.
That cars kinda mad max
0-60?
The Acura radio lol
Did it fit between the shock towers?
Yes but I had to swap to a hydroboost brake master cylinder from a 96 GT mustang. Next time i might try a datsun b210 brake booster as it is super narrow
