The conclusion i got is that most of the time as couples we don't enjoy marriage because we have wandered away from God's will for marriage.

Very insightful. Let me add on the last part. Love stems from the two greatest commandments by Jesus.
1. Love God with all your heart, with all your mind and with all your soul.
2. Love your neighbor as yourself
These two Must be followed. For you to love your marriage partner, you first must love God and have a relationship with Him, then love yourself and have a thriving relationship with yourself then you can go ahead n love him or her. The steps can't be jumped because love only comes from God. If you jump the steps the world terms it lust, selfishness, controlling etc
So back to basics. Divorce statics were high because people don't know God. Let God reign in your life.
