One mic is an effects mic; it gives the sound of reverb or extension or demention. The other one is a regular mic.with clear sound when you mix the two you get this elongated type of echo sound.
emmersom73 seems excessive since most people nowadays would just split a single mic's signal to go wherever they need. Plus the wet/dry control changes the amount of reverb or what have you on the original signal so that reasoning wouldn't really be necessary, but who knows, everyone does shit differently. I read online it used to be a phase technique for external noise, or maybe he just likes the tone of the two mics combined pre-effects. Whatever it is though, its working cause he sounds great
