Terry was a competitor same year as Dimash in The Singer. They became good friends. Dimash is 25 year.
Mr. Lin is very famous artist in China and Taiwan. He was co-contestant to Dimash in The Singer 2017 and they became friends and Dimash call him Papa Lin as he respects him as a father figure. Terry Lin was great technically but Dimash was more emotional and powerful in this performance. Btw Dimash is 25 yrs old. Did you noticed Jackie Chan in front row cheering? This was 5th Jackie Chan International Action Film festival held in China and Dimash was invited to perform, he sang 3 songs. Dimash is big fan of Mr. Chan and they are friends too. Thank you.

This is Jackie Chan week...Terry Lin and Dimash are friends from the singer. Jackie was in the front row...it shows him clapping. This show was outside so thats why it sounds a little low...no reverb off walls!! Terry is very famous in China and he is a great singer as well!!
"The Singers" Show identified Dimash and invited him to be contestant in the Show in 2017. Terry Lin were also invited in that year. As a young new comer, Dimash's performance caught the eyes of everyone immediately and his videos ran viral. Then Laure Shang signed Dimash and appear in many shows and concerts in China.
Dimash told Terry Lin at The Singer contest in 2017 that he (Terry Lin) was his favorite singer. They have an obvious love for each other. Dimash refers to him as Papa Lin. Terry Lin is and always has been fantastic. I wish they would sing together all the time. I love them both.

Actually, Dimash was just talking about Unforgettable Day recently and he said he composed this at 17 not 19. Who knows, it could have been a typo that once seen was spread as fact. LOL Terry Lin is a famous Chinese singer approx. 20 years older than Dimash. Terry was on the last half of the Singer 2017.
Terry was great support to Dimash and they became fast friends. In fact, Dimash invited Terry to sing at his first concert Bastau, which Terry did. Here they are performing to honor Jackie Chan. Dimash calls Terry "Father" They hugged because they are great friends and miss each other as their careers keep both busy.

Terry Lin or Lin Papa as Dimash calles him as Terry "adopted" as a son is a huge star in Asia for more than 30 years. Terry is from Taiwan and has an amazing voice too and they have sweet friendship going on since The Singer.

Ok I will also tell you a story about this 2 guy Dimash and Terry, yes they are competitors in I'm a singer 2017 when Terry came out in episode 5 in I'm a singer they said that Dimash and Terry have same high note but when Terry meet Dimash he said Dimash has a good technique, good skills and very handsome man and Dimash is so really shy, and Dimash said to Terry you are my favorite singer and then when the episode goes on Dimash is really proud if Terry Lin had a performance in I'm a singer and in the background Dimash always saying father to Terry Lin until Dimash call Terry Lin as his Lin papa. And I think they are teaching with each other and terry lin teach Dimash to have a song with 2 languages thats why in episode 10 when Dimash sing unforgetable day first he sing kazach lyrics and after that in chinese word so that they know the real meaning of the song, thats the way they sang it there in Jackie chan awards night.

Terry lin has been Dimash's friend and mentor for about 20 years. He's 45 years old. (Dimash calls him "Papa lin.") They promote and support each other, and although Terry lin doesn't have the "impossible" qualities of Dimash, he has an amazing voice and is very famous in his own right. Dimash beams with pride whenever Papa lin has a smash hit. Their love for each other is so moving; you can just see how they light up when they see each other. Dimash has so many GOOD friends, who are absolutely devoted to him and go with him on most of his trips.
