    i think for budget machines, using a grinder with a metal burr set is always ideal. the baratza encore and oxo grinders are very good value and you can find them used for around $70 in most parts of the country. They're sturdy as steel and will last a lifetime. Invest in a good grinder!

    I tried to remove the basket as you suggested but there was no way it would come off.
    I had been making espresso with another brand machine which came out with great crema. I got the Wirsh because I liked the fact that there is no plastic in the portafilter, but when I used the Wirsh, there was hardly any crema. Same coffee, same technique.

      There are many possible reasons crema doesn't always develop like we'd like. Some of these factors are freshness of the beans, grinding precision, grind size, tamping pressure, temperature of the water, etc. As for getting the basket out, try using a coin or the edge of a wide blade screwdriver.

      @@macbev what brand is the other machine is that ? I am completely new to espresso machine. I don’t want to invest too much yet. But neither do I want to buy a bad machine that’s gonna frustrate me. Thanks !!

      @@michaelerbreviewsI was using same beans, same technique. When I use the Capresso, there is ALWAYS a nice crema. Whatever beans I use.

      @@abbywong5403The other machine is a Capresso. Easy to use. Water container is easy on and off. Nice crema every time. Got it at a thrift store!

    using same handground its amazing coffee grounding in my knowledge (for 5 years) but sad to say they don't make it anymore. This model Espresso Machine i have it from my beautiful wife as her Christmas gift! did not try yet definitely in Christmas day and i'm sorry to borrow your idea here to shorten guessing time.
    question: i notice your espresso does not dialled up high only too shy at second bar red zone why is that?

    How would you compare this machine to other budget friendly machines around the same price point?

    • @michaelerbreviews
      @michaelerbreviews  9 месяцев назад +2

      I think it compares very favorably. It is superior to even known brands like Delonghi. I owned a Delonghi and it had a much weaker steam wand. and was all plastic.

    Disappointed in amount of pressure the machine generates. Ground very fine, tamped 25 lbs, fresh beans, but pressure gauge will barely touch the red area. I purchased this machine based on your review.

    • @michaelerbreviews
      @michaelerbreviews  8 месяцев назад +2

      There are many variables that can affect that. Different beans, amount of ground coffee, tamp pressure, etc. I've not had any problems with not enough pressure. And of course it is possible that the pressure gauge in your machine is not accurate in which case you might want to contact Wirsh to troubleshoot that. What burr grinder are you using? Have you tried a finer grind? Have you tried using more pressure? Have you tried using different beans? It sometimes takes me some trial and error playing with the many variables when dialing-in the coffee I'm using.
