It's crazy watching this. I was a kid watching most of these movies, now as an adult I still go into arcades when I see them, and I've met a lot of these people in the video (Hulk Hogan, Robert Patrick, Edward Furlong, Michael J. Fox, Fred Savage. Jeff Bridges). The best Arcade I've been to is Funspot in New Hampshire. They have the most classic arcade games in the World (if they still hold the Guinness Record). They play 80's music and 80's memorabilia everywhere with dim red lights.
I stayed so late one Saturday night (around midnight) that ALL the Arcade machines shut off around me at the same time. It was actually very creepy in that moment because the sound of all the arcade machines shutting off at the same time, plus the lights going out in that section. All I could see was lights from the other end of the building and as I walked closer, those lights and arcade machines shut off. So I walked out and literally had chills up my spine.
Being a teen in the 80's, awesome memories and the time spent at the arcades was a blast!!
I just keep coming back to this one.
Arcades were awesome
:( I miss the 80's. Internet/smart phones has pretty much killed off any kind of face to face interaction.

Do you have a Nintendo Switch? The Arcade Archives and Johnny Turbo's Arcade games are worth your time.
I miss the 80s so bad. We avoid each other these days. Back then we were a community
I hope there's a "part 2" I would have liked to see Hackers, Hobo With A Shotgun, The FP, Grandma's Boy... so many great movies with great arcade scenes. :)
2:43
This is why we need to bring back arcades!!!!!!!!!!!!
What movie was that?
Michael Lambert That's from Joysticks.
There are still arcades, they just evolved!
Like this one in Atlanta... www.gxgaming.com
We have arcades. They've just changed a bit. Check out Main Event. There's plenty of others as well.
OhYouDontSayThat God I wish!!!!
Looks like arcade games will be making a come back in the year 2285.
Today's 4K realistic graphics can never hope to compete with those 8/16 bit arcades because modern stuff just tries to emulate the reality but those machines of old days had fortuitously tapped into something "out of the world" stuff! aww so much to imagine there.
Not to forget the socialising "arcade feeling" you get while visiting one, something today's Xbox/PS kids will never understand
The best video in Huffington Post Movie Mashups Channel. The music, the images, the montage, the era!!!
That poor Double Dragon machine!! :(
This video is somewhat deceiving! I worked in an arcade for years and we only had one instance when a player was sucked into a machine. However, this video IS on par with how many times Hulk Hogan and Robocop came in and busted shit up.
Put this on mute, hit play on Billy Idol's Dancing With Myself music video in a separate tab, and it lines up almost perfectly. I do this every day before I continue working on my novel in which an arcade plays a major role in the story.
Austin Grimm Wow, I love your way of thinking! I’m always mashing up videos like that haha. Your story sounds awesome, I wish you the best of luck in your writing!
@@tamisweetie Thank you! Just started my fifth draft of it. The story is finally coming together the way I've wanted it to.
nostalgia...great video and killer track too
Love it, love it, love it.
...and thank you so much for including the movie list. I was scrambling to guess each one till I saw the link. Now it's more of a game to guess which movie each clip came from!
I wasn't expecting 'Jekyll and Hyde... Together Again' to be included. Thank you so much!
Someone please point me to the nearest *hot tub time machine*... :(
aww come on, no Wipeout from the movie Hackers? Still, good video that brought back memories.
I didn't notice "Spring Break" from 1983 which features "Galaga". It was directed by Sean S. Cunningham -- the man behind "Friday the 13th". -Cory
You forgot the first one: Computer Space in Soylent Green.
Digging that song.
The youth of today have missed out on all this. I feel sorry for them!
This is just awesome! also nostalgic
Bouncer is seen at 0:45. The game ended up being cancelled and This movie ended up being the only way to see clear looking gameplay of the title.
EDITED BY BEN CRAW .... THANK YOU BEN CREW !!!!!!!!! SO MUCH!!
I wish i experienced arcade age myself... I'm a die hard gamer and i love games but i popped out kind of late to the party... Computers and consoles took over. :v
It was amazing. Head to Japan if you still want to experience the arcade experience!
ajax pliskin I think other countries like South Korea and the Philippines also have popular arcades, but I can't remember exactly. (I might be wrong here...)
The Blue Mantis I bet you're right, I just know that Japan has some pretty massive and bustling arcades + a good arcade culture.
sermerlin1 It was so awsome man. Everything in the 80s and 90s was so much more social. Gaming culture was not nearly as huge as it was but it felt kind of underground with arcades. It was just an awsome place to hang out young.
It was awesome I caught the tail end in the early to mid 90s and still have a local arcade I still go to at age 30, it never gets old to me
This was great!
I love how it ended with Kevin Flynn from tron
All so 80s! Perfect choice of music, movie clips and sound bites. I saw only one fallacy -- there were no girls, hot or otherwise, in the arcades I frequented in my youth.
Good to great stuff!!!
The awesome song is Burnin Through The Nite by The Sweethearts ❤
Love it !
Took me forever to figure out that the song is actually by "Outer Limits Recordings."
THANK YOU. I was so confused about this song. I'm still confused, but at least I know who does it. (sort of?)
nbanolfgekid It's definitely Outer Limits Recordings (which is the name of the band). It's the last track on the "Singles, Demos & Rarities" album. The confusion is because there's a funny intro where he pretends to be a radio announcer and he says the name of the band is "The Sweethearts."
Ryan Kelly yeah, apparently he records under lots of different names. From what I can tell The Sweethearts is just a one-off song he did under that name. His stuff is really hard to find in general. You can find it on iTunes, etc. but it's not very complete.
Zak Mering Wow, thanks for the context! It's a phenomenal track, otherwise I wouldn't have put in the legwork to find out as much as I did. It's nice to have the full story though! I'll check out your other projects as well! Any tours planned?
Rest in Peace!
very 1st game I played was pacman in bonimart I believe, I remember getting the tabletop pacman not to long after. I spent many yrs in arcades but there r none left here anymore.
The memories....
I am in love, with this Video!
Good times...
long live the 80's!
Brilliant! But what about City Hunter (1993) with Jackie Chan? Epic arcade fight scene! IMHO
I always wanted a list like this so thank you. :)
There are bound to be some missing though, such as films from other countries not to mention TV appearances. The pub in Fools & Horses always had a few for example, might even have been rare ones; not that anyone outside the UK knows about that sitcom of course.
MagikGimp yes I remember seeing them in only fools and horses
was I expecting Bingo (1991) to be in here?!
There is a new music scene that draws inspiration from the 80s big time. It is called Synthwave, outrun, or New-retro. It's what you love about the 80s, but its NEW. movies like "Drive" are close to hinting at it. soundcloud.com/phaserlandmusic Here is Detroit based Synthwave Artist Phaserland.
Great shout-out but this is closer to chillwave a la Neon Indian or something.
In pixels there are some of these but karate kid is my favorite 😍
You guys should make a mashup of epic moments where a character(s) leaves a room
in the movie the caiman wath is the name of the arcade cabinet who remember ?
WTF!!! 12 DISLIKES? KIDS RATS????
Realmente essa montagem ficou linda, emocionante. Obrigado!
very cool
Hermoso video.
The Bishop of Battle *Nightmares 1983* Scared Me White when I was a kid!!!
Muito loko, Arcades Forever ^_^

This video is beyond good and evil
I knew they were goin to add the movie Juice
Christ's Holy Trousers.... great video
Also an arcade in The Replacement Killers
Didn't know that Earth had arcades in the 23rd century, as seen in the movie Star Trek III.
Dude dancing to Zaxxson
Early 90's were the best. Hadoken!!!
1:11 wait, that early Megaman was never an arcade game. Only The Power Battle had an arcade release
It was back in the 80s. They had Nintendo games you could select in an arcade machine although Mega Man 2 was never one of the official ones on it (had to be hacked I guess, which some did). We had Mega Man 3 in the arcade in umm... I think Caldor (an old school Walmart type store that no longer exists) in Rockland County, NY.
I googled it and the arcade machine is called the Play Choice. I used to play Super Mario Bros 2 on it all the time when I was a kid.
Also the pizzeria inside the old Pathmark by 4th Ave under the BQE in Brooklyn had a Super Mario Bros. arcade machine... Playing Nintendo games in arcade machines was such a rip off...
@@KusMoGX haha I remember that. There were some machines where you have to select a game before putting in a coin otherwise it doesn't give you a credit. I was about 6 and didn't know. I wasn't too happy that the machine didn't give me a credit because I was on the select game screen.
so, any list of the videogame played? for example, the rally/baja game from 1:42
Anyone know what arcade game can be heard in the background of The Lost Boys? The 2nd scene with Sam & The Frog Brothers at their comic book store.
Those poor machines...
Needs more Flynn's.
can somebody tell which game is in between the two TMNT machines at 2:17?
Oh! midnight resistance down at 3:01... great loss, how painful!.

astronauta1174 i believe it was called "Nightmares" from 1983...
Does anyone know who's the girl at 2:23 or the name of the movie?
The name of the movie is Joysticks, sleazy arcade themed movie from 1983. The game is called Streaking, also known as Strip Video.
forgot pizza planet...
Movie name at 00:04?
@1:51 was from the Double Dragon movie. So, one of the main characters from Double Dragon kicks the arcade machine of Double Dragon. So meta. The movie was terrible and the kick to the machine symbolized that.
kung fury ?
their is no classic arcade games in okc
I have bought at least 3 classic arcade games from three different private collectors in OKC over the past 10 years.

I cannot believe I missed the 80s. What a fucking joke
Pfft... you mean you had to use your hands? That's like a baby's toy....
0:11 0:13 pac manz
you might be nostalgic and all you want of arcades, but they were a nest of school bulies, junkies, robbers with knife, child molesters, weirdos, and so on. you had be really careful about those places, at least in my neighbourhood in Spain.
bery common to be bulied, stollen the wallet, directly robbed with a knife or beaten. most of the time the owners didn't want problems and looked away,
Not in the U.S
lucky you!.
thefun frame Sounds like my kinda place!
someone knows which is the name of the race game second 00:50
Top Speed
Um, maybe a better background song? (Sorry, wasn't feeling that)
Sound track is AWFUL, it is like muff diving and trying to talk at the same time, it is all muffled. Why go to all the trouble of producing a great video and then using a shit music track?
Horrible music
