Long story short, lost my 260 on my 1964 Ranchero. I am looking to replace it with a 302. At this point I know I'll have to replace the transmission as well. I'm not looking to race this car just restore and drive around. Would love to hear people's opinions as I am not sure if I should try to get a 302 with AOD or a 4.8 LS.

no built engine contains dod/dfm/afm. its a system thats failing and there a class action lawsuit out on the entire system, so only GM put it in engines. basically if you can see the top of the engine without the EXAH mani on, you'll see the valley cover. Smooth valley cover = no AFM system present. Ridged / bumpy valley cover = AFM SYSTEM PRESENT, MUST PERFORM AFM DELETE BEFORE new engine parts are applied otherwise it will blow a AFM lifter, which will then slowly ruin the engine, collapsed lifter is typically followed by rocker arm shedding trunnions. these engines should be void of all shitty gm parts. basically get a pic of the valley cover and rocker arms. / lifter wells.

Is the engine block in these LS engines aluminum or cast iron?
Our 408 is cast iron, the 376 and 427 are aluminum.

Yes, all BluePrint Engines are very streetable, and run on pump gas. Very daily driver friendly.
