- I will show you the strongest floating bench that you can build for your shower. I will be using Aria Vent floating shower seat brackets called Brack-14. The link for them is down below. This is a very easy DIY project that people can do. Shower benches can add huge value to your bathroom remodel.

Cool vid! It seems like you're not wearing a microphone (which is fine!) but your voice is rather low volume compared to the music being played. I may now need to re-tile my bathroom because I had my volume turned up all the way to hear you! So yeah, please for the love of those who value their hearing - please don't let the background music play louder than the dialogue!
Interesting and cool. Never seen that system before and it’s pretty cool.
Like seeing things never used before and the trades are always getting better w/ the “tech”, so might as well learn and use it
✌🏻✌🏻
Winni's work is 🔥🔥 He's great at supporting small businesses too!
Love the fearful leap onto it
Awesome design and thanks for the link!
I like it and hit the like. I think the bracket's could be designed better to eliminate the need to groove the wood. They should have more bracket types or alignment. Good quality work for sure
This kit is quite expensive. At least now I know what to weld up to fabricate it lol.
We followed your instructions and built the bench. Thank you for your helpful video! Do you have a video on how to waterproof it? I saw your video on how to tile it but it was already waterproofed.
probably the best way to build this
Do you have a Video on what you covered the bench with ???
That's awesome because I was really excited to find a 14 and a half inch height toilet because I am short 5 ft and so is my child who is actually 4 foot 9 zombie setting the seat at approximately 14 in.
Bro cool video! But lol u left the 2nd most part of it…. How about adding the tile over it and what steps to follow for homeowner beginners.
It might add 1/2"-1" (depending on if you close the bottom or leave it open to dry) but i think i would cover it with durock just for the extra longevity.
Either way, great idea for building a floating bench.
@@Lildude69505 Cheers! Appreciate your kinds words 😁
I've been kicking different ideas on how to build my shower bench. I think I found my answer
so your video jumps from a wooden shelf to a tiled shelf. You didn't show us how to tile the bench.Did you use foam between the wood and tile? I would like to see more of how you tiled that.
How Long is the Total length of the bench in video? Whats the maximum if you only get one set of brackets?
Each Brack 14 is 14" in length and recommended span between brackets is 16". This product page of our website has further detailed info about this. Here is the details dimensions page: cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0117/1210/2462/files/Brack-Spec-Sheet.2.pdf?v=1591969425
There are ways to improve on this basic design. There are off-the-shelf parts that would make this stronger and more reliable with respect to water proofing.
Can I get the link for the brackets please... good job!
I think I just saw that grout line crack! 😂
Nice idea though.... Looks great!
🙌🙌👌
Yoooooo!!!!! YOUUUUUUU AAAREEEEEEE AAAAAAAAMMMMMMAAAAAAZIIIIINNNNGGGGGGGG!!!! WOOOOWWWWW!!! YOU KNOW HOW MUCH MONEY YOU JUST HELP ME MAKEEEE??? TE AMOOO LOL YOU ARE AWESOME VATO!!!!
Good video but where's the rest of it. Do you wrap it with a backer board, water proofing, Kerdi?
Great question. This was more instructional to show how to install our Brack-14. But, you'd definitely have to waterproof and seal it up to prevent future damage.
@@fittes. would be nice to see the next few steps
Bracket is not flush with plywood after insertion. How do you proceed to make the bench 100% even for tiling?
@@bigneilh Completely agree! How do you level out the gap where the bracket is 1/8 higher than the 3/4 plywood pounded into the bracket? A ton of thin set? Seem pretty poor way to fill the gap?
@@stephenplantone9720 Completely agree! yes!!!!! How do you level out the gap where the bracket is 1/8 higher than the 3/4 plywood pounded into the bracket? A ton of thin set? Seem pretty poor way to fill the gap?
Where can you get the brackets and what are they called
Not understanding why you cut out the stud instead of turning bracket around?
19"-21" usually
Standard toilet 15-16” off floor.
@@SAthefuture that's not a toilet. Thank you have a good day

@@fittes. 🤪...😆
Very good.
hello may I know how long sm/ inc sitting zone deepth and leght please
Wonder if you added a tile on the bottom of the bench
Green board doesn't need to have water proof before tilling ??
nope - as long as you are using proper grout you will be good - I had it in my shower for 14 years not one leak - redoing my shower again the same way
I use cement board with 2 coats of redgard on top or the Schluter membrane system. I've seen showers with just green board last for 15 years but no longer than that. Once they start to fail there's no fixing them. not code legal.
Didn’t show how the bench was built to get to end result?
Is that sheetrock in the shower.
Hey where you buy those brackets
Where do I get these brackets ?
Your work looks cool, true proffessional, but i really don't understand what is the purpose of bench in bathroom..
Pretty standard stuff, really. But these can be outside outside of the bathroom too 😉
someone with disabilities could benefit from this.
women who shave their legs, older golfers who want to shower and not fall. it is the standard in any standup shower.

Where do you buy this?
I usually build them out of patio pavers. Make it solid with mortar and admix. Anytime I've done demo on a shower that had a bench made from wood...it was rotten. A solid bench prevents that
While the Brack-14 works great with wood (if the wood is treated properly and the rest of the area is sealed and waterproofed), it is also modular so any other suitable alternatives will work just fine 😃
@@fittes. after 35 years of setting tile...I know what lasts.
@@steveciarico9824 I would say if its sealed how could it get water - BUT what about a plastic product?
@@bigneilh after spending 35 years as a tile setter...the best bathrooms are made from concrete. Ever hear about the Roman Empire? Much of their tile jobs still exist after 2000 years and wanna know why? They built their shit out of concrete. Heck, they invented concrete.
@@steveciarico9824 not always feasible to use heavy weight on wood floors and on second stories. Shluter benches or this product seem like a good alternative.
Hi, where did you buy the metal to support the bench that you use in this video ?,Thanks
A hardware store that sells stainless steel angle iron. Lol
I live in the UK would love to know anyone here could do this...
What is the weight capacity?
why is there gree drywall in the shower?
mold resistant drywall - that's the color it comes in
@@sterlingmarshel6299 just surprised they used drywall and not a cement board.
why green board as opposed to backer board?
This was more instructional to show our to install our Brack-14 kit - but as long as the green-board isn't directly in contact with water it will be ok.
@@fittes. no I totally get the reason for the video and it is a good video for the bracket no doubt, but I was just wondering why anyone would ever even want green board? I'm sure it's "okay" but I would be pissed if that's what someone was using in my bathroom. That being said I am not here to criticize or anything it was an honest question. Please keep up the vids and I'll keep watching. definitely a thumbs up from me.
@@youngsun6617 Using green board in a shower should only be done when it will be covered in Schluter membrane. I don't know how this guy expects to sell product if he doesn't show the whole process for completing the bench.
He used a membrane. Type of board doesn't matter.
@@xavytex I shoulda figured he used a membrane. I've seen his other vids and its pretty clear he knows what he's doing.
wheres the vent?
No vent here! This is one of our accessories
Super duty bench ,very bad election of back board, man anything Sheetrock on shower is very bad, ,¡you can use cement backwards.😊
Woodglut plans are amazing!
America and their wooden walls xD
What are the walls where you are? Concrete?
@@BonBon770 yes
@@Indygoflow1 so what do you do just thinset straight to concrete block?
@@BonBon770 little concrete blocks and some walls are concrete with rebar
@@Indygoflow1 gotcha, is there any type of crack isolation membrane that you put over the block wall? Like a two-part system or maybe a liquid waterproofing?
