Super fun technique you shared! I appreciated your thoughts on being grateful and it’s so true we forget to appreciate what we have and not gripe about what we don’t have. Back when I lived in Alabama I would gripe about having to mow my lawn in the humid temperatures and then I started thinking gee I should be thankful I have feet and legs to be able to mow my lawn and be thankful I had my lovely little home. It’s all perspective and I’m so blessed to have found you and your channel…thank you! 🥰
Fantastic idea!!! And those images are so beautiful. After the Christmas and New Years’ celebrations are enjoyed, and done and dusted, I start pining for Spring … green and color and birds and happy sun. Those images are my jam!
Gratitude is such a huge blessing that can change any moment in any day. Thanks for "going with it" and sharing your thoughts. I like how the end result turned out in this process. Enjoy your weekend!🤍
Awesome use for Awesome!!! hahaha!!!! If you have stubborn laundry stains, Awesome is your answer. It will get stains out that nothing else will touch!!!!! Love what you did with it! I will be giving this a try!!!!!! We just lost our son on Christmas day to a stroke so never take anything for granted and alway be grateful for what you have!!!!!
@bettylongshore9594 thank you for the tip! I would have NEVER thought to use on clothes,, thank you! Prayers, and big hugs for you. I'm so sorry to hear about your son. Hold next to your heart the beautiful memories. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for sharing, and this beautiful comment😊💖
Thank you for sharing how to take that shine off the magazine pages. This is really neat. I'll have to try it to see if it's something I can do too. Thank you for sharing your gift.
@lawrencerodgers2074 thank you so much. I ❤️ your comment. Sometimes, certain words touch your heart, and you have done that for me today. Thank you, my friend 🧡 😊🤗💖
I've been watching a few if the organized spaces vids. I saw one today that was filled to the last inch of space, organized but still fuulll. After a moments envy i realized I'm happy with the space I have. JJing lends itself tp hoarding and I don't need anymore opportunities. I barely remember where what I have is. Thanks for the reminder 👍
The distressed magazine pages look great, can’t wait to try it. I wonder if alcohol would work the same. Oh, I love what you said about “Being Thankful” . I so agree.
I did try alcohol before. It will take a little off, but it's VERY slow, and only removes a tiny bit. Not enough to notice. That was my experience anyway. Thank you so much😊💖
Hi Christy. I've done similar things (bleach was the worst...never again type bad). But because of my health I do the sanding technique. No smell, light sanding and done. Takes ink well too. I have a ton of gardening books to use and looking forward to making spring and summer journals. (I'm still working on Christmas journals 🙄😏). I have a ton of the packing paper too so any new ideas on ways to use it will be appreciated. I like using it to make splatter papers. Lay out a long piece of it on the floor and just walk back and forth splattering away. (Very therapeutic 😁). Anyway, great video. TFS Hope you have a great day. 🌞
I'm going to have to try that splatter paper technique - sounds fun! 😄💖 I do love the sanding technique as well. I love using packing paper too. Thank you so much😊💖
I lost my husband one year ago today. Yes I am grateful for what I have but I believe we are allowed to feel sadness and pain for what we no longer have ❤ but thank you for teaching this technique to us today. I will be giving it a try. I love your style of creating. 🙏 Blessings
@janetvisochi-baum7572 my heart hurts for you. Big, big hugs 🤗 yes, feel it. I tried running from my pain, and it only created more grief. One day, there will also be smiles with the tears. I talked about that in a different video. Being blessed enough to know love, that when it's gone, you feel such great sadness. Grief is great love. Thank you for sharing with me. I feel your words in my soul. My dad, and husband's birthdays were this month, and January is always a bittersweet time. It holds so many great memories, but also the beginning of very sad memories. Big hugs, prayers, and love ❤️ 😊💖
@CraftedByChristyShop Thank you and thank you for sharing your story with me. It helps. And your kind words have also helped. It's been so hard and I am trying. Blessings 🙏 so glad I found you. Your videos are helping me. I have not yet created since his passing 💙
IT IS SOOO TRUE, THINGS CAN ALWAYS BE WORSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I FIND MY SELF, SAYING THAT ASWELL!! I LIKE THE DESTRESSED PAPER BAG IDEA. Do take care. Fl.
I did a journal cover with the brown paper and did exactly what you did I made a Halloween journal for my sister and those flowers from your magazine are gorgeous I'm glad you stopped when you did cause I think you took of enough
@merrybrantley4991 I had to Google that, never heard of it. I think I would like that better! It says it's citrus based, so I know it would definitely smell better. Thank you so much! I'm loving this option😊💖
@karver3440 why didn't I think of the printing!! That's a great idea. Haven't used the matte medium, but use elmers, and it works great too..I think I was just wanting a little more distress. I'm so excited about the printing.. thank you!😊💖
I don't have that product but I think it's about the same as Mean Green so will try that. I know it takes off paint because I sprayed it on the outside of a crock pot that was grungy, was interrupted and when I came back to it the paint wiped off with the grunge! I will wear gloves though because the Mean Green is strongly alkaline and will dry out your hands. Thanks for your videos!!
Hey Christy, I decided to give this a try, mhm, yours turned out awesome, mine.... well, not so much yet, but continuing to work on them. 🥴 I cut up a bunch of paper grocery bags to glue them too and make signatures out of them. I used some bird magazine pages, they worked best, some heavier book pages of flowers, didn't take too much of the "shiny" away, so may cover them with glue after gluing them to the page, and a 12 month calendar, so again, lighter weight pages that worked pretty good. They all came out ok, but it's dark out so hard for me to see if I'm gonna like it, with my eye issues, so in the morning, I'll look with natural light and see what I think. I used Zep brand citrus degreaser, similar to what you used and I had it already, I bought it for another similar project I had seen, it smells like orange, so that's nice, and it worked, lol. 🧡🧡🧡
I’m so glad to hear you’re having fun experimenting and that the degreaser worked! Someone mentioned citrasol too. It's supposed to have a citrus smell. This stuff works on a heavier weight, but it does have a smell. Thank you 😊💖
@@CraftedByChristyShop Yep, Zep was the closest I found to Citrasol, Citrasol is very expensive and had to be ordered online. It's gonna be -2 to -5 the next few days, with colder wind chills here, have appt with retina specialist Wed and gonna try to get into GP on Tues, both are close to a Dollar Tree, so may stop, but otherwise not leaving the house, lol. Cold is one thing, but can't deal with those temps, lol.

Christy,
I have to get this liquid first. Do you think it would work on glossy photos in " coffee table books" have you tried that?

I’ve used a matte varnish to dull shiny images .. it works but they don’t take the ink like those did
