Fascinating to hear the little snippets of conversation that most people would consider throwaway but have now been preserved as part of a soundtrack to this walk. Life's rich tapestry!
@@WalkNZ This is why I wish we'd had smartphones/affordable digital cameras in 1996. The amount of things that have changed always make me nostalgic for the past.
Just said to one of my friends today we have to do a trip up to K Road in all the charity shops because she's better at it than I am and it's no fun charity shopping alone. Real Groovy will defs have to be an extra place to visit. Even though its old place gave me nightmares with its Freddy Krueger standee (no, I am not joking, I had nightmares about that thing coming to life in my house), it's been a great place with great buys. I still have some books from there, and I'm thinking about getting a pair of their sassy slogan socks from there or The Garden Party in Ponsonby (probably "go away I'm introverting", or if that's gone "Ssshhh...I'm overthinking").
@@WalkNZ Me too. It's survived this long. I think moving it so it's a few steps away from K Road was a wise move. More likely patrons frequent that area.

Yeah I look forward to looking back in 10 years to see if things look particularly dated!

@@gustonzimasheen agree man. I've looked through some old pictures of Auckland in the 1980s and 1990s - it's amazing how much I had forgotten
I'm missing the place and looking at this video .Thanks for posting .

Real Groovy is a iconic bit of Queen Street, hope they don't close like half of the other shops there
