Hi Tom, excellent guitars and even better game, I'm your big fan and I try to bring a little bit of your guitar playing, so I wanted to know what herein pick and strings.Thank you,Milan
Going back and forth these two guitars do sound quite different, both sounding modern and really excellent. After watching Tina S I have come to like the look and vibe of the Excalibur guitars very much . I guess I will have to make sure I have the money when I go out to audition one b'cause if they play like a dream as too many people have reported thus far then I reckon I will be buying it. Does anyone know if they do options like Ebony fretboard or rosewood?
Although I admit they have some really cool ideas and excellent quality guitars I would not exactly say they chose the head stock design. That particular design is a design that wash used by Peavey and Washburn also used a very similar design, while there are minor differences they are enough alike to mention. That said these guitars are probably designed and built better than anything the 2 corporations that are most popular in the US build today. The problem with those two companies is no new ideas come out they are perfectly happy pumping out their respective guitars however, the problem from that line of thinking arises when other companies realize there is room for improvements in the design. Fender pumps out the base design of a guitar designed in 1954 same with Gibson and the Les Paul (a guitar designed in 1935). While the strat was a wonderful guitar in its hay day the strat is still a design older than dirt when G&L and Music Man is a better reflection of the life works of Leo Fender and the Les Paul is not even the same guitar Les Paul himself designed and built. While both of those guitars are fantastic guitars what companies like Vigier prove is there was always room for improvement and I hope they don't fall down the same rabbit hole of only building what they are familiar with and keeps the progressive approach they have today. Its not everyday a company proves logically that a truss rod is not necessary and this observation allowed them the ability to provide a neck that is more impervious to complaints of guitarist's. People complained to Fender, Gibson, Peavey, Ibanez, Washburn etc etc. about the problems associated with a truss rod adjustment, Vigier was the only company to address this complaint and that is probably the most intelligent decision I have seen made in the guitar building world in a long time. Its similar in the addition of the speedloader system of a Floyd Rose.
+Steve N. Mavronis "A zero fret has always been fitted on all of our instruments. This slightly higher fret’s role is to even open or fretted string notes, ensure perfect string height, minimize string friction and help avoid detuning, especially when using the tremolo." vigier.fr
+Nick Waters Tina S is actually like any other youtube guitarist 'prodigee' who do covers in their bedroom.. remember Mattrach, Anton Oparin,...? Where are they now? On the other hand, Tom Quayle has probably the best musical knowledge among top guitarists like Rick Graham, Martin Miller, etc... And wtf does the gender have to do with that? Because she is a girl she deserves more recognition?
Anyone who has played these guitars...how much does that neck joint get in the way? That's the main detractor for me. I really wish they had contoured that like Ibanez does with bolt ons.
I am still skeptical about the 90/10 thing on the neck, where they need no truss rod. It's said that it will keep the neck stable, but I'm worried when someone wants to tune the guitar down low. It would be nice if someone explained this part.
+Double L For real? That's incredible. So Vigier created a revolutionary & unique neck stability technology that's stability is only under warranty for 2 years?
+shredx81 is that really true!!???....I own a Shawn lane model,...for $3000.oo ...I would be fucking pissed if my neck did anything other than what it was supposed to do,..and that is NOT MOVE,...
+Double L Hey! When and where did you buy your guitar? The warranty is actually for three years, but in the five years I've been with the company, I've seen 2 or 3 instruments actually have problems. You can always buy another neck (they're bolt on after all) and we always try to find a solution to customer problems. If you'd like to talk about this, shoot me an email - dj@vigierguitars.com The carbon fiber simply kills traditional truss rods in terms of both stability and tone. It's not going anywhere :)
Yeah they should do something about the aesthetics, it´s not cheap but looks as you said. I like the aesthetic base concept I just want to look at it finished by a skillful drawer.
Ihave a Vigier and a Suhr. Since the time i got my Suhr, it has become my goto Guitar. It just sounds so mch more massive than the Vigier. Youcan check out both the guitars in action at my channel.
God i wants a Vigier guitar
Came for the guitar review, was blown away by the playing. Damn!
I wish more guitar stores carried Vigier guitars in California! Would love to try one out.
isn't the bridge a joint system? similar to ball bearings, I believe.
so not Knife edges
needle bearings
Vigier guitars are amazing! I love them!
great playing always flawless by Tom, I played one at Namm but I just can't see the price anything over 2k is pushing the limit for me
Best review I've ever seen! Thanks! The only thing that prevents me from buying a Vigier is the sustain. It looks so anemic...
Incredible player to start with ! ... Love the guitar as well !
They sound reall nice!

They seem to have only toothpicks thin necks "unplayable for me " !
Do they have any models with a full 1 inch "fat back profile " neck ?
Most underrated guitars ever!! without a serious reason,if you exclude the huge logo on the headstock! i just kidding:-), very nice playing.
Definitely prefer the Vintage v6m24, I just found it had a more warmer tone than that Vigier. Just a personal preference which I now want the Vintage
Tina S plays a Vigier Custom.she is amazing
It'd be amazing to hear from her again, it's been like 4 years

I like these guitars thanks in part to watching Tina S play them. She's great. Anyway how does that zero fret feature work?
***** its a good question! Anyone know?

Sounds great! :) What is the rest of the gear for this tone? :)

Mario G Aaah. Thank you very much for your explanation~
+Zidny Arbi Yeah, you can tune it to absolutely anything you want with any string gauges you want! No problems whatsoever.
I'm coming from the year 2017 and it's $4099.99 HOLY Fucking Shit Batman!
Universe...I wanna know play guitar like Tom !!!
Love Vigier guitars!
also tom is a beast
Hate the placement of the preamp switch and a 2 yr warranty for a $3400 guitar ? Sorry.
no Thanks looked cool NOT FOR 3500.00
i love these so much
She’s a beauty
Made in France I think 4k$ guitar
Warning! They only give you a two year warranty on the neck. If your guitar neck twists after two years they will not support you! I know. Trust me.
You are correct. I've worked on a few of these and personally wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.
Cool guitar but the carbon fiber has to go!

Great guitars
who think the desing are rip off of jp guitars
Vigier has been around for a long time. Shawn Lane was playing them when Petrucci was still at Ibanez.
They look literally nothing alike, and have completely difference specs.
Niceeee
I'm sorry. But it looks like a 6 year old kid was responsible for drawing that thing...

Omg they copied godin
