The build surface in the video is polypropylene. I got it from 3D Maker Engineering: www.3dmakerengineering.com/collections/3d-printer-build-plates/products/polypropylene-build-plate
I really like having the independent z axes, particularly for auto z align for tuning and leveling. I primarily learned what I know from Kersey Fabrications. His videos are great tutorials and my firmware is based on his.
Thanks for watching! The Ender 5 Plus is a good printer out-of-the-box. In fact anyone should use a 3D printer stock (as it comes out-of-the-box) first and get used to it before making modifications. There's not an optimal time to use a printer before starting to mod it. Personally I suggest someone new to 3D printing use at least 1-2 rolls of printing filament with your first printer to learn how things work. The Ender 5 Plus was my second printer. I got it because I wanted to be able to print bigger items. I've had it since July 2020 (so I've been modifying it on and off for nearly 1.5yrs). The Ender 5 Plus out of the box does not come with a silent control board. That's one of the main details 3D printer users will consider in choosing to buy a certain printer model, or in prioritizing upgrades. I happened to have an old video from my first printer about comparing silent control boards, so I just uploaded it. The video is short, so I put all the info in the video description: ruclips.net/video/BI58CSooO7Q/видео.html
Is the build surface the made from PCB printed board material? If so, where did you get it from?

Great video. You've got a lot of mods on your Ender 5 Plus. For a newbie is the Ender 5 Plus a good out-of-the-box option, without the mods?
