Awesome review - was just gifted a bottle! Edit: some background on the gift. My girlfriend works in the restaurant industry, and they have a fantastic relationship with a liquor distributor. She got this $299 bottle for only $60!!! Absolute steal! Looking forward to trying this tonight!
I love this bottle. Prices are almost double in the UK. I wonder if the US will catch up. Buy it while you can at these prices I think. Totally agree on the 46% being a surprise as the flavor strength would make you think it is higher. More copper metalic on the finish than sulphur for me.
Craigellachie is the coolest whisky town ever. Right in the heart of Speyside. Two of the best whisky bars in the world are there. The whisky is made at the Dewar distillery just outside of town. Sadly they don’t offer tours.
Got mine for $190, my liquor store will usuallyhave pretty standard prices then randomly have really good bottles for cheap. For example just got a Glengoyne 18 for $120
MAn oh man I should've bought this last year. It was $223 at Total Wine and I could've gotten it for 10% off. Now though due to the tariffs it has spiked to $300. I had the 13 year only and it did have the sulfur note to me. I remember 1 Scottish dude who would drink the 13 year Craigellachie as a palate cleanser during tastings.
Yea I couldn’t find anything about the color so I’m just assuming it has color added... I was lucky to get two bottles at $230 per but I know normally it’s $350 plus, which is why I didn’t purchase before. Cheers
@@topshelfwhisky i was lucky enough to get mine for 150€, so i have 4. This reminded me a bit of Clynelish and of Balblair 1991. I love this Flavour profile
@@thomasbuck303 i know it does and i so wish it were. But german sites can't lie and it clearly states it has added colorant. Believe me, it broke my heart
Hey Maltmate! Better sound, great review, big bolt whisky. See you next time. Grtz John, The Netherlands
Thx Mike. You’re the guy who reviews the good stuff. 😀
Lots of great whisky to come.

That's a steal!!! This is quality whisky. Let me know what you think.
Great video Mike.. Keep them coming.
You know it!
Great review Mike
Thanks man
Nice! I absolutely love the 13... I have not been able to find the 17 or 23 year old expressions. Maybe some day...
I still have the Lagavulin’s for you, maybe I’ll add something else. 😉
@@topshelfwhisky That would be fantastic!!
Awesome review Mike. I really enjoyed this bottle....please save me some 🙂🙏

I just reviewed the 23 exceptional cask, 57.5% and let me tell you.... its a stunner.
@@topshelfwhisky That is the one with the stinky finish. I bought 2 x standard 23's and they shipped the Exceptional instead.
Great review!
Thanks VV
I heard it goes for around $500 everywhere else in the world other than the states.. the bottles in the states are old bottles too
I believe this is the 2014 release. Excellent whisky for $230

Man, I would love to visit. 2021 I was planning to travel to Islay but plans are uncertain... btw, I just reviewed the 23 exceptional cask.
My review of this comes out Sunday/Monday
Can't wait
Btw, Rob. I just got a Balblair 1990 2017 for 120€. Stocked up 3 of those !!!!
Beat you to the punch!!! I look forward to your review.

Both solid deals. What city are you in?
@@topshelfwhisky Greater Denver Area
Thomas Buck nice, my nephew lives there.
Is this similar to aged Nikka?
not really
Should have bought it last week when I was in New Orleans.
Too much fun?
8 or 9 days😩 You feeling ok brother. Get back at it😁 Sounds pretty tasty
I’m well! You still good?
Mike’s Whisky Reviews Mentally starting to feel it but ok

Dean! where you been? I hope all is well... I picked up a couple for around $235 per but $300 isn't an awful price. In the UK they go for 400.
Thanks - I actually like the 17 more and it is soooo much cheaper
I’ll have to get my hands on the 17. It’s. But hard to find for me but I’m sure there is a way. Cheers
How much do you see the 17 for nowadays? For me the Craigellachie 17 year is $164 plus tax.
I believe it is coloured... This and the price are the 2 regrets i have about this scotch...

The color on this range looks natural to me.
I also got this bottle at $180 so I cannot sympathize 😋
