I live in the tropics of Florida, and i recently moved to the deep woods on a peninsula called Merritt Island. The NO SEE UMS are insane. You can barely see in front of u. Growing up in them though has helped me withstand them and not cry about it like you guys. Like damn, man up!
Can't wait for the next video. I have seen a lot of water purification systems but I can not think that I have seen it done that way before. That trip looks intense. I've not done a survival trip like that to the fullest. I need to do that. Great video guys.
Spicy! (we can call you like that right?;] ) You should man!!! Go on a survival trip. Survival won't always be happy business;), but it's a great way to really test and practice your skills and develop your personality! The stone boiling purification method is definitely not invented by us, haha, our ancestors must already have done it for 10's of thousand years. How would you purify water if you wouldn't have a industrial made container?;) Great to receive your interesting comments again! sorry for the late reply. Julius
It makes all the difference in the world to have a buddy. You half the workload, and it keeps your spirits up when stuff gets scary and stressful. Not to mention having a K9 with you.
Man, those Midges were fucking intense! Reminds me of a narrow channel between the mainland and an island in Queensland, Australia. It's called 'The Narrows', and runs from the mouth of the Fitzroy River in the North, down to the Gladstone Harbour. It is a very narrow stretch of water with both sides being mud and mangrove forest. It is the only thing that separates Curtis Island from the mainland. The sandflies there gather in clouds around. A spray on strong personal repellent is an absolute necessity. I once slept in the open on an island just South of Curtis. I had covered myself in repellent but not my eyelids. In the morning, I could barely get my eyes open because mosquitoes had bitten my eyelids to the point where they'd swollen.
It is amazing how something so small and tiny can really mess you up!! Suppose The saying: ' together we stand strong' (for the midgies;) ) applies... :( We usually bring our head-nets or hammock with inbuilt flyscreen with us but they are definitely concidered luxury items on our survival trips! ;) All the best, Dylan
Brilliant boiling the water in a log with hot rocks. Improvise. Again I must say you need to really reduce the size of your spindle drastically. No more than 3/4 in. It will spin faster thereby creating more heat quicker and with a whole lot less effort. Just don't bare down real hard or you will drill through the hearth board. Go lightly at first until you feel it drop in the sweet spot then bare down just a bit more. It does not take a lot of downward pressure. I know I have pointed this out in other videos but I just subscribed and can't help but put in my 2 cents worth as I labor for you just watching. With decent material it should not take more than a minute and with good materials about 30 seconds or so. Love your videos...y'all truly are some of the best survival content to watch. Lots of fun just watching and listening to the banter and the authenticity of your videos.
I enjoy the level of professionalism, makes it very realistic. Might be good to kind of explain what you are doing when preforming certain survival skills
The midgets were SO EASY to manage! All you need to do is to rub some mud on all your exposed skin parts - arms and face and neck etc. They can’t penetrate and you won’t feel them at all. This will give you peace and the necessary time to do your stuff slowly and in an orderly fashion! After you start the fire you can wash it all off ...but these things comes with experience. Making fire quickly is not the only solution and survival in general is not about making fire! Try to survive for 72 hours without any fire as in a true concealment situation on an enemy territory!
So where are they? It has a real untainted wilderness look about it. I am on south coast of England near the south downs but it is heavily populated and the south downs, although a nature park, is mostly private farm land. It had woodland but it is criss-crossed with footpaths. I want somewhere wild, with not many people around so I can light a fire and camp out.
Third time watchig these episodes 72 hours challenge! Its so fun! From norway and love your content! You hearted my comment like 15 minutes aago! Thank you!
