For anyone who’s ever watched @reefdork videos over the years I’m looking for some clarity on setting up my tank. Alex suggests that on day 1 he turns the lights on the tank, doesn’t suggest whether that’s at a low intensity for a certain amount of time or a shorter photo period. But in another video advised on leaving the lights off for a month. Which recommended option is best. I have a Red Sea reef led 50 that I am currently running at 20% blue 10% white for 5 hours with 1 hour of moons at 10%.

i have a super start "superfish" heater on my tropical tank, as part of that bundle, and yeah i've seen major inconsistencies with it, a load of rubbish for sure!

for anyone wanting a small nem only tank, check out a small aio cube tank. dont put any extra powerheads in the display, and instead buy a bigger return pump. that way its enough flow for a simple nem tank without having any propellers in the display for them to get sucked into.

Most of my dream fish are pretty cheap. I like them for the color and the way they behave. I have all of them but the blue line bc I don’t have 1+k to drop of a fish that doesn’t do well

This time setting up I have ended up spending more on corals but filled it mainly with different types f damsels with a couple tangs and a nice pair of wrasse currently
