I know you did this a while back, but I wanted to thank you for your review. It helped me make an informed decision and I bought this. It’s incredible! Expensive yes, but definitely worth it. Thanks very much. Cheers!
I bought this pedal based on this (and Pete Thorn’s) demo. Really a great pedal. Fit right in my board...barely, but I squeezed it in. Thank god for top jacks! Thanks for the great review. Cheers!
Nice review dude. Curious what amp you're plugging into? I have the Revival Compact, and I notice (if I'm not mistaken), you use eq1 with the adjust control fully clockwise, which is the maximum compensation the pedal can give for bright amps. Wonder what amp is that bright? Cheers *Edit: you answer - Fractal. And perhaps you have power amp selected? Interesting that its on the bright end
Hi Ross, well done review on the pedals. I have a question about my recently purchased Deluxe 61 Trem Drive by Origin Effects. The foot switch part, is it a volume pedal / speed pedal /or on off pedal or even all of the above? Also, where would you suggest I put my Revival Drive and Cali 76 as regards Trem Drive order on the board? My modulation pedals will be run through the send and return on my amp combo. Subbed. 😉
I keep thinking, Revival Trem + Revival Drive Compact x Revival Drive Standard? Or just Revival Trem for a cleanish always on sound, plus drive and trem?
Thanks for the demo. The direct P/amp portion had kind of a dull sound compared to your other setups. It definitely needs at least a poweramp simulation I guess. nice vid anyway.
Sounds amazing and replicates the bias Tremelo on an old ‘61 Tremolux I once had. If I were build a rig from scratch, I might consider? My drive and tone are well established and variable to my liking now. I really do want an awesome Trem? The Trem seems great, but would be nice to have some more features? I realize this pedal is recreating a Vintage amp Tremelo, but Harmonic, deeper control, different wave forms, more modern capabilities? I’m also sure this pedal is not cheap (more than $200)?
Great video! Do you record in a sound treated room and do you record at fairly low volumes? Great guitar tone! Trying to see if I can get something similar in my home and so my neighbors don’t kill me.
Hi Ross.. I'm new to the channel and I think you are really great... Your playing is really inspiring.. Great! Would you suggest the Revivaltrem as main overdrive ? I need one, as I need a tremolo too, and I'm a bit confused... For overdrive I was looking to Gladio, Protein, Duellist. Is the Overdrive of Revivaltrem comparable to these latter? Greetings from Germany ;-)
First thing, Cold Gin riff? NICE!! Would you say the Term and RD are different enough to own both? I own neither, gonna get the Trem, wondering if later I'll also want a RD. Great vid!! Thanks!!
Yeah, the drive circuit in this will only give you one very specific amp sound (1962 Brown Fender Deluxe), whereas the RevivalDRIVE pedals allow you to dial in multiple classic amp tones.
I'd say that's all down to your personal preference. They each do different things. Reverb & Trem vs. Drive & Trem. What do you want more? Both are great quality pedals.
The Strymon Flint offers a different fx combination (Reverb+Trem), it doesn't give you the whole drive portion of the Origin Revival Trem. As for the Trem, the Flint offers 3 different Trem-flavours (Harmonic Trem, Tube Trem and Opto Trem), which the Revival Trem doesn't give you. I find especially the Harmonic Trem to be highly desirable and it's not found in many pedals (the Walrus Audio Monument is another pedal that offers Harmonic Trem). As always, this isn't a question of better/worse, but rather a question of personal preference. If you want the Brownface sound combined with the fitting Bias Trem, you'll only get that from the Revival Trem.
$516?!?! What in the what?? I built a 5W combo amp around a 1963 Silvertone circuit with little effort and got true vintage single-ended "was it good for you?" tone with a tube rectifier AND a tube trem... FOR UNDER $300!!!
Part of the reason why the price is that high is because of all the research, high-end parts, long warranties, and build quality that go into a pedal like this.

Thank you Rich, I'm glad that the video was helpful and enjoy your new pedal :)
That thing is amazing. The Power amp setting is crazy good.
Tremolo in the Victory amps - e.g the V40 Deluxe and the V140 Super Duchess - use a bias tremolo circuit.
Sounds pretty neat and interesting my friend. Cheers for the showcase and talent
Thanks!
@@RossCampbellGuitarist Cheers man!

Awesome Rich, thank you!
it's really cool that they wired an oscillator to the LED, nice touch, I wonder if you can wire that oscillator to the output and create a synth sound
One of the best reviews I have ever seen. Great job.
Into the power amp, that thing sounds incredible!
Great video Ross, really shows off this pedal
Thank you!
Very nice playing
Sounds fantastic, especially with that Goldtop, is that an Eastman SB56?

Gosh sounds so good
Great video Ross....thanks!!!
Thanks Brad!

Approaching the 100k well done
Thanks!
Ross how do you like that Eastman SB56? How does it compare to a Les Paul? I played one and it sounds and plays really great.
Thanks for the demo. The direct P/amp portion had kind of a dull sound compared to your other setups. It definitely needs at least a poweramp simulation I guess. nice vid anyway.

What is your signal path?
whats that gold guitar chief?

Hey Matt. I record directly into my Axe-Fx II, so I don't have any issues with my neighbours. Well... not often.

Thank you! Yeah I really like it as a standalone overdrive pedal. I can't speak for those other pedals as I haven't had the chance to try them
So if I’m getting this right this can be used as just a trem without the drive section? That would make this very useful for many options.
No you actually can't use the trem on its own without activating the drive
Well, kinda. The drive can be turned down/cleaned up (while turning up the clean output) which gives the sound of a lovely, musical tremolo.
First thing, Cold Gin riff? NICE!! Would you say the Term and RD are different enough to own both? I own neither, gonna get the Trem, wondering if later I'll also want a RD. Great vid!! Thanks!!

nice intro!
Expensive
Sounds sensational...but that price...ouch.
But is it better than a Strymon Flint?
I'd say that's all down to your personal preference. They each do different things. Reverb & Trem vs. Drive & Trem. What do you want more? Both are great quality pedals.
The Strymon Flint offers a different fx combination (Reverb+Trem), it doesn't give you the whole drive portion of the Origin Revival Trem. sounds exspensive

you can actually wire a jack to the back of that and use it as an amp head, wonder if thats a good idea or not.
Is that a new les paul gold top I see
Tasty playing! 420 EUR?! WTF?!
