Thanks so much! I have seen numerous things on replacing the switch, but nothing on how to get the hatch open so you can replace the switch. I was soooooo close this whole time but didn't push the thingy over. LOL
The broken button is because these latch switches weren't grounded to the car. There are other RUclips videos about how to properly ground the latch button to get it to start working again btw.
It works but then the hatch won't lock meaning anyone can open it. I'm having the same problem with mine. I'm just going to replace the part so it will fix this problem.
I just took the plastic off the rear hatch so i could find the plug for the button cut the blue wire that goes into the brown one on the connector crimped a small wire onto it to extend it and use a self tapping screw and a crimp on ring terminal screwed into the body to give it a direct ground totally bypassing the sensor all together now the door will work till the end of time and im only out maybe $0.10 for a inch of black speaker wire a crimp but connector and small ring terminal with screw.
@@IMDonkster thank you for the reply... Yeah it makes a sound like it unlatches but I can push the hatch door all I want and it doesn't open. Do you think there would be a way to open it by moving the latch teeth with a screw driver?
Hi. You are welcome. After I posted this fix someone else posted a quick fix that will let you open the hatch with the outside handle again... instead of climbing in the back seat like I did. Here's his video: ruclips.net/video/UARo78Rr098/видео.html The only problem with his fix is that the hatch will never lock again... but it will always open with the handle.
Now that you've opened the hatch you remove the door panel. And run a ne groind wire from point the door handle plugs into wiring harness to any screws on door. Now your door latch is fully functional. Replace door panel and your good to go hatch functioning as it should. The ground wire is a common problem on the versa from 2005 to 2014 it's a very simple very cheap easy di it yourself fix that takes all of 15 to 20 minutes to do start to finish.
nissan versa rear doors wont open form inside, they open form outside, child lock is not activated and the windscreen rolls down and up, just the door dosent open form inside? any solution?
There's a fix posted on RUclips, but it is VERY hard to do. The repair at the dealer costs around $400. I traded my versa in for a 2019 Toyota Corolla.
lets see if this works for me cheers from #HTX i had a "collision expert" tell me it was going to be like 200+ to fixit hahaha no way i am going to be a sucker

@@angelniebla7833 I'm in the same situation. How did you fix it? What part needs replaced?
Good to know ! Thanks for posting 👍
Great video
Thanks Friend, Greetings From Piedras Negras Coahuila Mexico
I had this issue, odd enough, the fix for me was a lock sensor in the passage side door
Yes, the sensor in the door will fix it, but wasn't that a $300 repair? I was not willing to pay that.
The part is about $50, front passenger actuator. The repair is doable without weird tool too
by any chance can you share how you figure out that was the broken part? just had this issue and dont know where to start...

Yang Zhang just fixed mine today replaced the passenger side door lock actuator and rear hatch works again. Cost $34 from Rock Auto.
Thanks for the info!
I tried the fix in the video but when I push the white lever it doesn't unlatch.. is there something else I can do? Thanks
The white latch should open it. Push it hard. Otherwise it's a mechanical problem.

@@louisnava1729 yes, I would try a screwdriver. You are lucky if it isn't a bad sensor in the passenger door. They cost about $300 or $400.
@@IMDonkster yeah Nissan wants $650.. thanks for your help.
Louis Nava hey did you ever get to fix your trunk?
