Good on you. It is nice to see young people realizing their proportion of household income spent on either rent on their own home in NB, can be better or close to places in BC and Ontario where there are better jobs with higher pay and with greater potential for advancing ones career, social mobility, not to mention better inclusiveness.
It took my wife and I living in NB, that owning a house isn't everything and that quality of life is more important.

Interesting you mention your U-Haul experience. The times we used the service In NB, it was not good, and very unprofessional; we experienced a similar thing because they didn't have the truck we wanted even though we ordered it months in advance. We have used U-Haul going from East to West and vice versa over the years, but for some reason never had an issue going West to East, but always East to West starting in NB.

Yeah actually they called us a day before our booking and said our uhaul is ready to be picked up in place in Dartmouth Halifax! Almost went crazy on them!

Everyone like things differently! We loved Saint John until we felt we don’t find what we need there so here we are looking for what’s best for ourselves 😊

To each his own. I'd take Ottawa any day over any city in the Maritimes.

Ottawa is a very expensive place to live!

Honestly only Rent or owning house is expensive which is the case in all Canada but others than that everything is cheaper than SJ from our experience

It's relative. It's not compared to some other cities in Canada.

lol, yes indeed, I guess I am talking about rent/home ownership, which has gone up a lot in Ottawa(we use to live there for 20 years…) Now it is basically unaffordable for anyone without two very good salaries to own a home in a decent area. There are sketchy areas that are cheaper, but not cheap by any means.
Bus passes are very expensive, events, shows, memberships, gas,I think, is cheaper maybe, but then you must drive a lot in traffic. We left due to the traffic was driving us crazy…. Sometimes two hours stuck on the Queensway, and traffic is only getting worse. People in Ottawa are not as friendly as people from the Maritimes too. Their new rapid transit is a disaster. Food is cheaper I think, that was a good thing. Also they have a good library system.

@@rps1689 I think Ottawa would be in the top few….Vancouver area, Toronto and anywhere within driving distance of Toronto would be more expensive.

They increase tax in NB..crazy and nothing going on. No jobs. No value for money paying that tax.
      Don't forget bad healthcare.
      So makes sense
