I'm learning Japanese for a different reason. Not to speak it, or watch anime without subtitles, but I'm learning Japanese grammar and some roots to influence a conlang I am making. So far it's been based on romance languages, slavic languages, Germanic languages and Arabic, and I decided it was too eurocentric. So I'm learning some Japanese grammar and roots, and I plan to possibly add some Chinese and Korean
Edit: I'm not learning any of these to actually speak it, I'm solely learning how sentences are made (things like word order, case systems, gender etc)

I admit mine is a weird mix, I started my Japanese learning journey through music. So I know some phrases that sound way too poetic. But now that I'm trying to learn more properly, I try to speak _super polite_ I also exclaim in Japanese occasionally too. Lmao
