I've heard it's best to check for bedbugs first in the dark with a flashlight because they can scatter and hide when they see light or sense a predator.
Also, what's the point of doing anything else first? If there are bedbugs, I'm out of that room!

We ALWAYS clean our room and ask for fresh bedding. 100% and no one will ever stop me 😊

I’m somewhat of a germaphobe and I don’t know why I never considered the need to clean the hotel room first. I think it’s because I never learned basic cleaning skills so it seemed out of reach. You make it all seem so doable and I will be doing this on my next vacation.
My fam and I most definitely clean when we stay at hotels.
I always do this! I mainly use sanitizing wipes & spray with a microfiber from home.

This is not good. Because Hotel will expect you one day that you will clean up the mess but you pay high price for the Hotel. If you just do the video and explain the problem then they will correct their failure.
