Wallace is consistent at one thing and that’s running mid field, the stats don’t lie. It doesn’t take a high IQ individual to understand why he stays in NASCAR’s top series. It’s really pretty simple when you think about it.

I think the biggest problem with him is that he starts out slow. He begins to peak in the middle to towards the end of the season. 2024 has been a step in the right direction but he needs to start building on that now. No more running 20th for the first 10-12 weeks. He needs to be up there with Reddick ALL season.

The one thing that blows my mind is that he’s going into his 5th season at 23XI and he doesn’t even have a short track win. If I was told after that 2020 spring martinsville race that he’ll be in top equipment but won’t have a short track win, I would’ve been absolutely livid. Bubba can be a fantastic number 2 driver if he actually wins at the short tracks. I think Reddick and Wallace’s skills offset each other pretty well but he gotta get his short track game up.

Bubba's issue in terms of perception is the fact that he gets far more media attention then his abilities warrant. If you didn't follow NASCAR and had a casual glance at it you'd be reasonable to mistakenly think he was a top 5 driver, championship contender or Toyota's best in the field, rather then a midpack driver in front field equipment. While he's better then Menard or Patrick he has the same issue they had where it's the disconnect between the quality of the ride he has and the media attention that's the issue, though unlike them he at least does have the talent to warrant being in the Cup series in the first place and isn't a pay driver like they where which is why he'll likely go to Trucks or Xfinity for a while after his time in Cup eventually ends.

One of the best drives in recent times because of his ability to rile up Nascar fans. No other driver considered "mediocre" would receive as much attention if they were just another white dude. Go 23.
He's the diversity driver who replaced Danica. He's definitely a lot better than her, he's a solid mid pack driver, but since he's "the diversity hire" he brings sponsorship money to any team he's on and that's why he's still driving in Cup.
He could finish dead last in every race and still have a job because he's black. I wouldn't have said that in 2019 or going into 2020. He did have promis, but his attitude has changed his driving.
Im black myself, and you have every right to say this. I don’t think there’s any other top team will tolerate consistently not making the playoffs and not winning. Unless you’re black, or you’re like Austin Cindric or Dillon staying in your ride because NEPOTISM
@KenC4242 I know of no other driver who has had such a mediocre performance for so long in top equipment that has kept their ride for this long. Every time something bad happens, he cries racism. Lose a sponsor, cry racism, get called a mediocre driver, cry racism, get called out for acting like a jackass, cry racism. Do you see a pattern. There's another black guy who's mediocre, can't remember his name, sorry, but he's not a jackass like Bubba is. I want to see a black driver succeed.
Bubba has slowly gotten better. even though the win column went down and he didn't make the playoffs 2024 was his best year. The top 5 column and top 10 column was better, laps led were better, not making the playoffs was a fluke because of surprise winners. I think he just needs to win a race and finish top 12 in points in 2025
Bubba is NASCAR’s Dalton Line. If your driver is worse than him, you have a problem. If he’s better, you have your guy. This is not me calling Bubba mid either, Andy Dalton was a top 12 QB in his prime and I think Bubba is somewhere around that mark.
He’s been pretty disappointing but having a black driver out there means a lot, to a lot of people. And there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s beyond cool seeing a black team owner and black driver in one team. A lot of “bubbas” can’t comprehend what that means and shows to a lot of people.
Bubba is a solid driver! That team need to do better at the start of the season then he probably would be making the playoffs every year. That team is great during the summer and end of the year. It’s just too late for the playoff push.
The dude isn't anything more than a mid pack guy. He's only shown any glimpse of promise these last couple of years because he drives top equipment. He'll continue to get the opportunity though because he's black and all the money that he brings in
I’ll say this He’s another one of those drivers that he’s not a top lv driver, but he is cup material. If you put him in a lower series in a top rude he’s gonna be a champ threat. He may break out one day but he’s not a top 10 driver🤷♂️. But that’s my opinion
My whole problem with bubba is the fact that he kinda whines a lot. I think somebody with more experience needs to take the number instead of Wallace. The other thing is people say he is a top tier driver when he is usually mid pack and when he’s up the field it’s usually like a top 10 or worse. As for his wins dega in 2021 was him being lucky at a super speedway with rain. His Kansas win was actually good but he destroyed his own season because of his crybaby personality.
Fact: He’s not near as good as some want him to be. I always find it funny he’s one of the 4-5 drivers you see especially on a NASCAR on Fox ad for tv or something. He’s a slightly better version of Paul Menard
People called Alex Bowman mid but they have an issue with calling Bubba Wallace mid. In the near future, they could be very close to each other but they no where close to each other's skill.
i think this szn is the season hes gonna come out as a dark horse in the playoffs, past few years the 23 has been good at the end of the season, with dega being in the ro8 he might make it all the way.
@@gowithit19 i think he will be better, hes got a new crew chief who i think is gonna make him even better. LIke if you look at his struggles from last season it really was him getting worse and worse as the race went on cuz bootie barker couldnt keep up with the changes.
Your points are very valid. If This was any other driver in top equipment consistently not making the playoffs. Or not winning they’d be calling for his replacement. If 2311 can’t win with him this year. They need to go pick up Cory Heim before somebody else does because I would love to see Heim drive fords.
Having watched all levels of motorsport since early 80s, and studied racing series and drivers back to 50s , can honestly say I've never seen what people do in Bubba, he is mid at best. Timing was on his side and that's all I'll say bout that. He is nothing special in nascar. But like many others that come along, sponsors or a certain demographic see value. Same with Danica and many many others.
lets be honest, we all know why he was thrust into the spotlight and featured on television like he was. Same reason Bianca BelAir won the the wwe womens title and Kofi KIngston won the WWE title. ....
I wanted to root for Bubba to succeed until 2020 until what happened happened. (Yeah I know "Living in the Past" but as if I can't like him for that and other things? Remember seeing a compilation of him being a POS). Since he went to 23XI he's been mid and probably made the playoffs once cause Bowman and Elliott missing races. Even if I was a fan, he's mid. I'd argue his seat should be up for grabs by someone else if he can't find any consistency full season, and not show up during summer, do terrible spring. Nah nah *Looks at Tyler Reddick and how that 45 team has performed
Brother he had nothing to do with that! Petty took in all the sponsor money he could form the Black Lives Matter movement. Bubba was a pawn in those events. Just over look that. He is a solid driver he’s on the same level as bowmen or a buscher. Those drivers will keep top rides in the sport for a long time.
Look, Hamlin and Jordan were clear on this, the team is built around Bubba. Reddick is just an unexpected prodigy wins-raker, but the problem with him is that he's not black nor from a visible minority. So Reddick's got to go.
Facts I’m no Bubba hater by no means but he was rushed up to the cup series way too quickly and if he has a bad season again this year & 23XI don’t let him go, then idk what they’re thinking b/c as much talent Toyota has in their pipeline it’s a shame they don’t have anyone better to be in the 23 car Plus Bubba has no championships in Trucks, Xfinity, ARCA, K&N pro series for that matter & you used to have to have a championship in at least one of those series before you moved up Just sayin
I'd say Bubba is about on the same level talent-wise as guys like Stenhouse, Suarez, McDowell, Briscoe, Erik Jones, Cindric, and Austin Dillon. They're definitely not the best drivers but they can manage to score a win or two every so often and occasionally get a decent finish in the points standings. Not as good as guys like Larson, Byron, Bell, Reddick, Hamlin, Logano, and Blaney, but not as terrible as LaJoie, Ware, Harrison Burton, Ty Dillon, and 2024 Kyle Busch.
3 things.. I hate what ifs. You can create a billion scenarios based on what ifs. He made the playoffs. Period. He then advanced to the next round and beat guys like logano. You can’t put an asterisk because guys were injured. You compare his tenure at RPM to Almirola but don’t compare it to his successor Erik Jones. Jones was seen as a top prospect and has done just as good in that 43 as he had. Mediocre would be an understatement. Even with the points made in this video I still think 24th is too low. You seem to turn a blind eye to other drivers that you rank above him.
@@KaiDub24 he lucked his way into the playoffs once, meanwhile his teammate is consistently up front contending for wins week in and week out, and won the regular season title last year. If Bubba starts being as competitive as Reddick is and is consistently winning, then people won't have a reason to call him mid. But for now, that's what he is. Not the best, not the worst, just mid.
Bubba isn’t bad. Though it’s obvious that he’s out performed by his teammates. Even this year I think he’ll be in contention to be in playoffs but he’ll missed it most likely because of a surprise winner. That’s what I think.
Gonna have to disagree with you on his rpm run. Their biggest mistake was switching to Chevrolet which at that time Chevrolet couldn't get their cars Right for a while which affected rpm
He teammate was the reg point leader and made the final 4. Where was bubba? That about some it up, also I don't believe he is mentally tough enough for that level of competition
I don't even think he's mid tbh. He's basically in JGR equipment and still managed to miss the playoffs. His teammate was the regular season champion and was racing for a championship. Should have no problems competing for wins every weekend in the equipment he has.
@p1motorsports694 you said that Bubba underwhelmed in the RPM ride like Almirola was lighting the world on fire himself. Even if Almirola was doing better, he was a veteran at that point while those were Bubba's first 3 seasons in a ride that went winless the previous 3 seasons as well and didn't make the playoffs. With a veteran driver who when he first arrived in the sport was touted as a future star
@Samuel_Wiltshire alright, fair. But Almirola had that car in and around the top 20. That's the point I was trying to make. Yeah I probably could have done a better job giving context, I will admit that. But seeing how he has done later on in his career, RPM wasn't a fluke. That's what I was trying to drive home.
If you want to talk about "mid" drivers, there are many that should come before his name. He's not top tier, but he's been competitive more often than not, but he's an easy target for clicks on any platform. He has a couple of wins, and came close to winning several other times, but people ignore that and claim he's not deserving of his opportunities. He also performed very well in the playoffs, but again, people will ignore all that because they have a chip on their shoulder about him for some reason. Again, he's not top tier, but he's much better than people give him credit for, and certainly doesn't deserve to be constantly mentioned as someone who doesn't deserve to have a ride in Nascar. This shit is old and tiring, but guaranteed to get a lot of negative attention for anyone who wants to get clicks.

I think he's a good serviceable driver but I agree there is absolutely flaws that do need to be talked about like I feel like unlike Reddick he doesn't really get the best out of equipment he does as good as the equipment will give him which again that's not a bad thing some teams like a driver that doesn't push the equipment to the limit.
I just hope his new crew chief will help improve his performance to the level where Reddick is at. Let’s be real here, Bootie Barker wasn’t the standard for a good crew chief…it takes more than a driver for the team to do well. Look at Stewart Haas, Rodney Childers was the only championship worthy crew chief on that team and any driver not named Kevin Harvick at best only got a win while Harvick got to fight for the title. Most of your points are valid but I don’t think you’re fully thinking it through and when you ranted about you being right about Bubba missing the playoffs, you sounded like those comments offended you. One of the best drives in recent times because of his ability to rile up Nascar fans. No other driver considered "mediocre" would receive as much attention if they were just another white dude. Go 23.
Ay good job man great video keep up the work like the changes
He's the diversity driver who replaced Danica. He's definitely a lot better than her, he's a solid mid pack driver, but since he's "the diversity hire" he brings sponsorship money to any team he's on and that's why he's still driving in Cup.
Bubba is the Jussie Smollett of Nascar
he isnt going anywhere, his sponsors wont let it happen. he leaves sponsors leave the sport.
Bubba is nascars version of DEI and he plays that card masterfully. Always ran out of talent when it counted most.
This reeks of 20 cans of Budweiser and "bubba smoiler" hurr durrr cuz my flag cannot be flown
Truth hurts lad
Just because he’s black he’s a DEI hire
Wow, what else, is his a an n-word lover too?
@thermoNUKE97R the only truth is the brainwashing from the AI slop Facebook posts you consume
Saying he is mid is generous. He is not even mid.
Bubba was a DEI hire period. (Sorry they took your initials Dale). He's no good, and too bad Wendell Scott never got his opportunity.
Bubba has slowly gotten better. even though the win column went down and he didn't make the playoffs 2024 was his best year. The top 5 column and top 10 column was better, laps led were better, not making the playoffs was a fluke because of surprise winners. I think he just needs to win a race and finish top 12 in points in 2025
Love the vids man, keep up the good work, going places places
lotta hypotheticals in here
Bubba is NASCAR’s Dalton Line.
He’s an alright driver although he get way more attention than he deserves.
Bubba is a good driver it’s just that he gets good to slowly, most of his wins are during playoffs when he’s not in them
Bubba is a solid driver!
He'll continue to get the opportunity though because he's black and all the money that he brings in
I want Bubba to succeed, But I don’t think he will and he’s gonna keep his ride as long as MJ is there.
I’ll say this
He’s another one of those drivers that he’s not a top lv driver, but he is cup material.
Yall say that everyone is a whiner
Fact: He’s not near as good as some want him to be. I always find it funny he’s one of the 4-5 drivers you see especially on a NASCAR on Fox ad for tv or something. He’s a slightly better version of Paul Menard
@@hunternixonfishing2500 it doesn't make a lot of sense to me that they show him in the NASCAR promos alongside drivers who have won championships.
People called Alex Bowman mid but they have an issue with calling Bubba Wallace mid. In the near future, they could be very close to each other but they no where close to each other's skill.
Usually these 2 are not the same people.
I’m here for the rent free comments 🤡’s
I agree people defend as much as possible but its fact thay he is underperforming and is overly cocky
Bubba is as good as Ward Burton. Shows glimpses of greatness but not enough to be top tier. Not bad, just not Elite.
i think this szn is the season hes gonna come out as a dark horse in the playoffs, past few years the 23 has been good at the end of the season, with dega being in the ro8 he might make it all the way.
@@mrpro4668 if he really wants to go far in the playoffs, he has to be good in the first half of the season as well.
@@gowithit19 i think he will be better, hes got a new crew chief who i think is gonna make him even better. LIke if you look at his struggles from last season it really was him getting worse and worse as the race went on cuz bootie barker couldnt keep up with the changes.
Hailey Deegan would be better in that car.
i do really like bubba wallace but he just seems like a waste of a seat at 23xi, but he could be very solid in xfinity
Bubba has always been over hyped.
B tier Bubba.
lets be honest, we all know why he was thrust into the spotlight and featured on television like he was. Same reason Bianca BelAir won the the wwe womens title and Kofi KIngston won the WWE title. ....
If Bubba misses the playoffs again this year, or doesn’t win a race, he is officially mid
If he is consistent in the full standings, he deserves a chance, but if he continues to be a disappointment, he should be replaced
Nah nah
*Looks at Tyler Reddick and how that 45 team has performed
Brother he had nothing to do with that! Petty took in all the sponsor money he could form the Black Lives Matter movement. Bubba was a pawn in those events. Just over look that. He is a solid driver he’s on the same level as bowmen or a buscher. Those drivers will keep top rides in the sport for a long time.
I feel like everyone is getting all that are not preforming to expected, Jesus leave them alone
Someone finally said it!
Look, Hamlin and Jordan were clear on this, the team is built around Bubba. Reddick is just an unexpected prodigy wins-raker, but the problem with him is that he's not black nor from a visible minority. So Reddick's got to go.
Facts
I’m no Bubba hater by no means but he was rushed up to the cup series way too quickly and if he has a bad season again this year & 23XI don’t let him go, then idk what they’re thinking b/c as much talent Toyota has in their pipeline it’s a shame they don’t have anyone better to be in the 23 car
Plus Bubba has no championships in Trucks, Xfinity, ARCA, K&N pro series for that matter & you used to have to have a championship in at least one of those series before you moved up
Just sayin
He is always been overrated they just promote him because of his race
Gonna have to disagree with you on his rpm run. Their biggest mistake was switching to Chevrolet which at that time Chevrolet couldn't get their cars Right for a while which affected rpm
Bubba is in the top half of drivers its that sarcastic way he talks that messes with people
Yes. That is a main thing
I’m just gonna say it. I don’t like him all that much. He just isn’t my favorite.
He teammate was the reg point leader and made the final 4. Where was bubba? That about some it up, also I don't believe he is mentally tough enough for that level of competition
Tyler Reddick was also sick I believe having flu-like symptoms and yet he still beat Bubba Wallace...
remember when DEI was a race team, not an agenda? Here's your sign
I don't even think he's mid tbh. He's basically in JGR equipment and still managed to miss the playoffs. His teammate was the regular season champion and was racing for a championship. Should have no problems competing for wins every weekend in the equipment he has.
This didn't tell the full story at all. If you're gonna make a video about a driver you oughta tell it right
@@Samuel_Wiltshire I wasn't wrong in anything I said.
@p1motorsports694 you actually were because of omission. When you don't give full context you lose the whole picture.
@@Samuel_Wiltshire example?!?!
That's what I was trying to drive home.
is he getting better or are other drivers stay off??? asking for a friend
Mid is an overstatement, he can’t even compete with his teammates
DEI according to MAGA.
@@dcaseng maybe you need to make some videos for clicks then seeing as how you have 1000 videos and 1600 subscribers. 🤣🤣🤣
I didn't make this for likes and attention. Sure I knew it was a polarizing subject but this is something I've wanted to make for months. Also, everything I said was accurate, I was respectful, neutral, objective, and I brought up a lot of fair points and criticism. I didn't hate to get clicks, I offered up points that all the big youtubers wanna avoid.
@@p1motorsports694 If you knew anything about me, you would know i couldn't care less about my sub count, or anyone else's for that matter.
I don't ask people to like or subscribe, and i don't monetize.
Congrats on your sub count.
@@dcaseng I apologize. I was trying to make an offhand joke. I realize that we both have different goals and I may have disrespected yours. I apologize.
I think he's a good serviceable driver but I agree there is absolutely flaws that do need to be talked about like I feel like unlike Reddick he doesn't really get the best out of equipment he does as good as the equipment will give him which again that's not a bad thing some teams like a driver that doesn't push the equipment to the limit.
let it li
Bubba is a filler just like most of the field!!
Maybe I’m overthinking that and it’s just your tone that made me misinterpret that.
@@ic3man wasn't really offended I just found it funny because I couldn't show half the comments because of RUclipss monetization. People called me a dumbass, retard, racist, n****r hater you can see where this is going. I don't feel like I was ranting.
@ now *that* explains a lot. I might be a bit of a “Bubba defender” myself. But I do not condone going that far and on behalf of the Bubba defenders, I’m sorry you got called those names and I for one do *not* associate with *those* defenders who would go that far.
@ic3man honestly I don't really care. Like I'm not gonna care what some dude on the internet sitting behind his screen says. If anything, they clicked on the video and helped me lol.
Below mid and a terrible attitude.
If he doesn’t make the playoffs
Sorry Heim should be in that car over him
Break!
bubba smollett
Bubba is horrible. Denny needs to put a driver in the car who is actually good like Corey Heim
I like Bubba, he’s a great guy but he NEEDS to prove why 23XI signed him. He needs to be up front and compete for wins and championships
April's fools day its Bubba Wallace
Not a fan.
DEI is over 😂
BUBBA is the kamala of nascar
Bubba who? Oh you mean Bubba Smollet he's yesterday's has been!!!
