Great content. I agree the power of AI in every day use cases is truly staggering. I think it is fair to say that early adoptors can see how agile AI can be for personalized learning and self-directed learning. However, educational institutions of all stripes are not supporting teachers/instructors who are grappling with issues such as pedagogy, plagiarism, the way to enrich creativity instead of robbing it. It's truly going to be revolutionary on all fronts.
imo causing a much-needed disruption. I'm hoping future education models will be more aligned with personalized learning, rather than rote memorization.
I know this does not really apply to your topic. But I homeschool my children in Vietnam with American curriculum. However, it is difficult to find English books for my Vietnamese child to read that are in English. She was clever and asked ChatGPT to write her a book. It came out well. But she did not define what she wanted in the pro Otto well, word count, fiction, live, mystery, book length. She refined it and got a top ten book on some popular list…hers I think. She could not put it down. My children take chatGPT everywhere. Not sure how schools are going to adopt to chatGPT. Perhaps it will be like the reluctance to accept calculators in school. Glad we are still not tied to landline phone. I think we will, I think we must evolve.
I think the advent of the SMART phone shot holes in the ability to communicate with others. I own a restaurant, and the only way couples can communicate with their partners at the table is send them a text. I feared this when it first came out. That and the harm that comes from the internet. Now AI makes it worse with videos that can look so lifelike.
