Kids at this age are soo cute and thoughtful. My son also tells me to make stuff for him and his classmates and he's like "non of my friends have allergies so you can make anything" and the reason he says that is because he remembers last year he had 2 friends with allergies. The teacher is also very good at communicating this with the kids. They are such a cute group, they all love each other and grew up so close this year
As the kid who couldn't have most things because of my egg allergy it is so nice! we had a competition outside of school yesterday and my friend made eggless brownies JUST so i could have it too!! I've never tried a brownie before so I was over the moon!!
One of my friends was allergic to nuts, dairy, and gluten, when we were 8 my grandma took us to go watch a movie and eat out and all that, my grandma not knowing about her dairy allergy asked if we wanted to go to an ice cream shop, I said that we couldn't and after my grandma was told about my friends dairy allergy, she immediately got onto her phone and found an ice cream shop with a bunch of non-dairy options, it was 2 hours away so we called my friends parents and told them we would be a little longer than we had planned, then we went to the ice cream shop, I tried some of the non-dairy options and honestly they tasted amazing, I'm glad my grandma had found that place because the smile my friend had on her face when she heard we found that place was one of the most genuine smiles I have ever seen on her. ❤❤❤

As someone who deals with food allergies, hopefully cross contact exposure was ok. Better to keep everything separate, bake with freshly washed bowls / utensils and preferably in a cleaned oven. Packaged separately to avoid cross contamination. I hope this kiddo got to enjoy their donut.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that throughout all of human existence people have been going through this intense experience of watching their children grow up. My kids are 3 and 1 and I am so painfully aware of how fleeting it all is. I keep having flashbacks, like, "Two years ago HE was doing that same exactthing she is doing right now..." And yet we all manage to go about our lives, we are still more or less happy, while these fragments of our hearts keep growing and learning and becoming their very own people 💗
My youngest just left high school this year, so I fully understand how you're feeling. Even knowing the time will fly does not prepare you for just how fast it goes. Seeing photos of my kids back when they were little is so bittersweet. I am so excited to see where my kids go now they are adults, but I so very much miss them being little.

It’s so nice that your daughter remembered the kid with the allergies, when I was little, when parents would bring in snacks many of them didn’t mind the people with allergies. I remember one year i couldn’t join in on the group snacks because the parents would constantly bring in stuff with peanuts or something else I was allergic to but it was usually mainly peanuts that was the problem. My teacher would bring in a snack or my mom would pack me extra snacks on the snack day because of this. My teacher put it in a newsletter after a while because so many kids couldn’t eat peanuts and yet some of the kept doing it. Eventually the school banned parents from bringing in stuff with peanuts since it is one of the most common allergy but that rule came in after I left for middle school.
Some people have regional accents 😭 did not sound that odd to me 💀 go outside and talk to people and you will hear many variations in how they pronounce things

I know this goes without saying but....savor every second of it! My daughter just graduated high school last week, and I still feel like I'm in some kind of brain fog, lol. And in August she moves 5 hours away for college. Oh, and she's going to Brazil in June for 3 weeks. I feel like someone is trying to give me a nervous breakdown 😂😭 And those turned out beautifully ❤
