I own this battery case for all the amazing reasons you mentioned in your video... I did want to speak to one point about the door construction. I've had that thing fall off while I was riding my bike at 19 mph and although batteries and door went scooting everywhere, the extra card storage kept my cards safe and that battery door detached and was very easy to put back together. This happened last summer and you would never know anything ever happened. Great product that totally put newer products into my head for future budget considerations.

Hey thanks for watching! Great to know about that door as it was a little concerning... This is my 4th Neewer product so far (I also have an LED panel, some magic arm clamps and the other charger shown in this video) and they've all been great values.

@Andreas1701 I have had a video idea that has been rolling in my head, and why i stopped on your particular video. Feel free to run with it... pertaining to creators exploring entry-level brands. As a creator, i want quality tools, but as a family man on a family man budget, it's important to recognize that a used honda is functionally as good as a used BMW. No need to waste money on things with show off factor when they have an affordable alternative. The trick seems to be making peace with other qualities.... like functionality over brand recognition!

@@mtmccornack yea I've thought a lot about this... Camera RUclips is constantly pushing products that are trendy, and many are pushed by people who make a living using cameras which is not the case for a majority of people who watch these videos, I feel like. I don't blame the creators of course, their opinions as professionals are valued. It's just that for the rest of us, there are great alternatives that don't get enough love because they're not "sexy".

Тhank You. I have both chargers that are in your video. And also Neewer batteries. Yes, they work less than Sony, but I bought them on Black Friday and 3 pieces of Neewer + free charger cost me the same as 1 Sony. And by the way, Sony didn’t reduce the price on Black Friday, it was still $78. I also recently bought another model of Neewer batteries, with Type-C on the body, and an increased capacity of 2400 mAh, but judging by the tests, it lasts as long as a regular Neewer 2280 mAh. I also bought an ISDN NP2 Air charger. But it burned out after 5-6 uses. I didn’t notice that it had a lot of negative reviews on Amazon and 3.5 stars. There's a reason B&H doesn't sell them at all.

I have a Small Rig battery for my Sony RX10 M4. Lasts almost as long as the Sony battery although I haven't tested it like you did. Can also be recharged via a USB-C port that is built into the battery.

@@papolini109 hey thanks for watching! Ironically one of these batteries stopped charging a few days ago, but like you I've always been satisfied with neewer products so I'll chalk this up to bad luck.

2 days ago I updated the firmware of a7IV from 1.11 to 3.01. Now I can't use batteries from third-party manufacturers. 30-40 seconds after switching on, a warning pops up that stable operation is not guaranteed and the display of the charge level in percent disappears. This is another half of the trouble - the camera can turn off at any time, without saving the recording. Even on 2 stripes it is risky to record video. Sony thus decided to eliminate competitors

3rd party batteries are cheap but they don't last long. They will work initially but deteriorate quickly. Casual hobbyist won't see it but heavy users will notice rather fast.
Example. My X-T1 Fuji OEM batteries are still working after 8yrs. During that same time I've had 12-20 3rd party batteries give out after less than 1yr of heavy use. The cost savings of 3rd party is offset by replacement frequency. Comes out to be about the same except now you have more e-waste.

While this is mostly true, I had some NPFW50 batteries on my a5x00 series, specifically from Wasabi and DTSE which held their charge for the 3+ years I had them (though they still had about 70% of the Sony batteries' capacity)... So perhaps it's brand/model dependent. Well see how these Neewer ones do over the long haul.

    • @Battlem0nk

@@andreas1701d how 3rd party mfg work is they buy/bid on bulk cells. Sometimes they get a decent batch other time less than avg. OEM uses the best premium cells. Kinda like how apple monitors get the cream of the crop LCD panels and then slightly defective panel get sold to off brands.

@@Battlem0nk right, like pretty much any generic brand of anything... Maybe I've been lucky, fair enough lol. It's all anecdotal right?
Generally speaking though, neewer products I've tried so far are pretty decent bang for the buck which is what led me to try these

Goddamn Chinese lyier so the Neewer last almost 1/3 LESS even thought they state it's "supposed" to be the same amount of mAh. I hate how they all lie about their products and mostly on batteries or flashlights, can't trust none of them.
