    This was recorded before the new year's presentation as well. The 3rd point I made at the end is for both RELEVANT and COMPLETE decksets. The Lianorn and Drajeweled master decks are reprints with only 1 new card. This would have been great in 2024. But it's 2025 and metagames have already been changing. It may be complete but will it be relevant anymore?

    • @jacobjensen7704

      Hopefully it’s like the Orfist deckset where the deckset plus some new support from the new set makes a meta deck.

      @Yusei5DSynchro День назад +3

      Meta or not, these are decks that are made for new players to get started and the fact that they ARE complete decks makes it encouraging to play since they may not need to be changed drastically. And on the other side, there also may be players who wanted to build Drajeweled and Lianorn back in their prime but didn't have the funds to make the deck back then and still wish to use/own them in some capacity. And to have these decks with their current main boss units all wrapped up together in a $60 set with other goodies to go with it, just makes it that much more appealing.
      They may not be as relevant as they were in the past, but these particular decks are in no way pushovers. They both can still put up decent fights and can show off their own unique characteristics, which is what you want in a starter product such as these. I also own both of these decks and I find myself practicing with and against them every now and then and I'm surprised on how well they can still do, but I digress.
      Point is, these Master Decksets seem to be a strong entry point for new players in that they are 1.) fan favorite decks, 2.) complete with the strongest variations of the boss units, and 3.) at a reasonable price with extra goodies to go with the deck.
      P.S. I believe they are also getting more support in Set 8

    I really really think Bushiroad NEEDS to make Vanguard sets have a universal release everywhere. this would keeps the regions the same with releases and avoid the price hikes in EN before sets even come out cause JP has already tested the new cards and have tournament results. It also makes the game more appealing as we wont have to wait months between reveals and releases which will keep hype more alive in the EN community. It's also 2025 at this point, if Bandai can do universal releases with their games then bushiroad definitely can.

      It’s an insurance thing. One it helps review the cards they just released through tournament play and it helps remove them from taking away from representation of other decks. Yugioh is a good example - They hit the best decks in some capacity but leave just enough to see how well it can hold up against the new releases and for other players to find cards that work well against those decks. And if they really want to push new product they will make the Ban list more prominent. Cards move on and off the list to help push product and formats along. Bushi seems to like this set up and even though Konami receives back lash the players kind of just accepted it as time went on.

    I left a very long comment on that APS video about my feelings I'm not gonna copy that textwall here
    But yeah I also quit in 2024 and shifted back to Vanguard as my main game again. I recommend it to people constantly, and now with those Lianorn and Drajeweled precons coming out that's even more amazing entry product for people to get into the game
    Main things I want to see from Vanguard is certain cards being more accessible such as dual nation G2, energy cyclers, etc (reprinting G3 Dragons, Masque, etc was an amazing start). Triggers need to be regularly in sets even vanillas are annoying to pick up now. Elementarias should just be in products by default. Ik they are reprinting all the exclusive stride deck set cards in set 6 but honestly I wish they just reran the actual stride deck sets. I'd have liked to pick up the deluxe edition for Shiranui for example but I just can't now.
    Also really wish Bushiroad would allow their products to appear in brick & mortar retail stores. You can go into Walmart/Target/convenience stores and find the big 3 and bandai games without issue. Vanguard would have way more people buying it if it was actually publicly available.
    Also completely unrelated; can you link me the frames you're using to frame your playmat in the bg? I have a few I wanna frame (2017 Cray Chronicle Notes playmat, Stride Deck set playmats, etc)

      I pay extra for glass that helps prevent the certificate and playmats losing color or getting damaged by the sun exposure over time. It's not a cheap process but well worth it. Especially if you don't want them to age, damage, lose color over time.
      You can also use their coupons to get 50-70% off too. I've done it so it's brought down to around $100 USD.

    they need to realese product faster in the west, we behind japan for 2 month is crazy

  • @TTPMMA
    @TTPMMA День назад +7

    I think the worst thing about Bushiroad at the moment is attempting to cater to only one audience of players being Japan only. The West mind as-well be a footnote to them, as they have shown to not care. Premium not having a banlist for over a year proves that point, and that is highly discouraging to come into this game which I believe is fun, but stagnant. If this trend continues for the next year, I do not believe Vanguard survives in the West truthfully. Overdress may be "growing" but the problem with that format seems to only ever be exacerbating. Higher prices promos. Higher priced stride sets. Higher priced staples, etc. Yugioh players already ran into the issue of "why am I paying more for my deck than what I can win" which is only inevitable for Vanguard as well. Nao energy generator is cool, but will cycle out for cheaper ones.
    Eventually I see this game dying with this trajectory. Funny enough though they could be doing some of the most basic things to fix this. For one, let the english meta have its own banlist. We already have a different card pool, so why not. 2, allow for the West to have West exclusive products. Japan already gets exclusives, it is only fair in my opinion. And 3, stop ignoring premium. For the love of God, the garbage promotion of premium is beyond disappointing. It is your only format that actually displays your game at its fullest potential, and they do nothing with it. People want a set, they want new effects, when truthfully all they have to do is allow the ride deck into it so your standard decks be somewhat viable. If people are worried about breaking that because of V or G cards, just implement the rule that only D and forward cards can be placed in the ride deck. Removes the ability to draw going first, and the quick shield but giving stronger consistency. And, it locks out any V shenanigans. I could go on, but that is the majority of my thoughts.
    And for anyone who reads this and tells me the ride deck breaks premium, good. Do it. Change the game, and correct the course after. That is how all card games go.

    • @CommanderJaime

      Ride Deck would indeed break premium in an unfun way, The 2 formats should stay separate and the deckbuilding is what allows that. However, I do agree with you on the sense that premium need massive changes right now, and seeing that Bushi refuses to release specific Premium support, I can only see this happening in 2 ways. Adding an Energy Crest to the format, and making consistent Banlists to rotate the meta decks. I feel like I have seen the same meta decks topping for years.

    • @TTPMMA
      @TTPMMA День назад

      @@TheLiamBrisThank you for the thoughtful critique.
      My questions would be what would make adding the ride deck unfun or inherently broken? Imposing the restrictions I suggested of course as I know adding G - V cards would definitely make it far stronger. If there is something I am missing I am open to it, but the fact some ride lines in standard are locked behind the necessity of the ride line makes me more inclined to want it brought over. I think an eternal format should live by that term, and truly have everything available. I also would like to add I imposed the D restriction for a reason as I think some decks work better without a ride line.
      And my last statement would be to see new topping decks, we need to be willing to accept more into the game. Not isolate further.

      @@TTPMMA My personal want is for ride decks to come to premium, even with restrictions. I will say that I see the point where some decks would easily become so much better even if the ride deck was vanilla aside from the G3 just because of the guaranteed ride. Dimension Police wouldn't have to clog spots with 1's and 2's and would start having thicc shield on every card on turn 3 or 4 with Geomaglass and/or Dailiner reride (if it couldn't be included in the ride deck). Bermuda Triangle's highlander style could ignore having to include extra copies of cards that did little on rearguard but would be ideal to ride (because they want to have as many different names as possible). Adding a ride deck while limiting it to cards with the D mark would also invalidate cards designed for that ride-chain idea that came before (no Vortimer or Blau bonuses).
      Realistically, the only way I see ride decks happening in premium is if they do a ton of restrictions (like how original Barcgal and Kyrph can't be used as a Starter) or if they choice restricted mechanics such as no strides if you choose to use a ride deck.

I stopped buying boxes in NA because all the cards i personally wanted were shortprinted or high rarity so it was unlikely to get even 1. If they switch to the multi rarity per card system, it allows casual players like myself to get copies of desired cards for a fraction of the price, and if the box has many cards for many decks, i would genuinely consider buying a couple because the chances of obtaining it are substantially higher.

      @CommanderJaime vanguard actually had that if i recall it is called vanguard zero .. but they emphasize so much on the characters and not let the card do the talking .. on yu gi ohh MD and Pokemon tcg Pocket however they let the cards shine more .. also I'mma add something too both of those games have a great f2p experience which Vanguard Zero doesn't ..

    I've played yugioh many moons ago. I was around at the beginning all the way up to teledad, and yugioh has always been expensive. To make teledad was 1200 to 1500 dollars just to get the dark armed dragon where the price point for that card was 200 to 250. I lost love for yugioh, then. Is it a fun game, yeah, but if you want the deck that wins......jump out your socks 😅

    The Ygo thing is wrong. The TCG has basically banned all the generic omni negates. Yes there's still crazy turn one boards(assuming you don't get hand trapped), but the boards can be broken and have layers of interaction.
    FS Ryzeal is without question, and has 1 omni negate on its end board if they decide/can make it.
    That section just feels poorly researched

      This is meant for over the years not just recently from the December Banlist. As mentioned players have given feedback and myself have heard over the years in person at events or even online.
      Team APS made 2 recent videos on it as well. They've also mentioned it's from a standpoint of over the years.
      Hope that makes sense.

      @CommanderJaime watching your vid, and I'm sorry but a lot of the Ygo takes feel way off. Fully putting my bias out there it is my main TCG. I am very aware of it's flaws, but a lot of the arguments you made feel pretty dated. You fail to mention prize cards, side event prizing, rarity collection gutting the prices of most of the staples you will need.

      1 omninegate and a non once per turn pop on an xyz that can have an excessive amount of materials that can also go into freaking Zeus and just not let your opponent have a board at all. The deck is toxic as is the majority of meta in general and that's the freaking problem. Yugioh's meta is toxic and it will always be toxic because it's freaking omnipresent in the player base. No one's playing yugioh for fun anymore. That's why people are leaving. There's literally no difference between playing at a locals or a ycs because everyone is always playing the same crap in everything!

      @dustinvance243 yet it still absolutely beats out cfv in attendance numbers and events. Crazy. Almost like people still enjoy the game.

      @@mhz3317 The toxic meta players might be enjoying it because the game freaking caters to them. But The mid core players aren't though because they straight up can't play. That's the point. You're just denying the problem because hur dur attendance. Which is dumb because it completely ignores other factors like whether or not areas even support other games. Believe me I wish I could quit yugioh, but the game I want to move to being digimon simply isn't supported where I live. So I'm just freaking stuck playing a game with a player base that doesn't want me to be able to play at all!
