A melancholic tune can be heard in the manor. It’s all too familiar to Emily. She turns the corner, and there she is. Emma Woods, seated at a rickety piano bench, playing on a upright piano for who knows how old it is. “Emma, dear?” All of a sudden, the young gardener looks Emily’s way, the music ending abruptly in the middle of a note. Emma was smiling. Oh so innocently smiling like how she had smiled all those years ago back at the orphanage. A twinge of guilt pinches at Emily’s heart. “Remembering your childhood?” Emily finally asks. She shuffles closer to the piano to get a better look. Emma nods, “Mama would play this all the time for me and Papa. Isn’t it pretty?” Emily gives the other a pained smile, “It’s beautiful, Emma. I could only wish I could have heard her play this.” (Enjoy the small little story I thought of while listening to this :D)
