    You really handle Händel.

I found this video fascinating. My knowledge of Baroque is limited in music, as I know more about the art scene and how later movements in art sort of poked a bit of fun at it.
Honestly, the only piece that I know I’ve heard is “The Messiah” and that’s been years since I last heard it. Though it was very recognizable when it came up in the samples of his work during the video.
I really enjoyed this, I have a disco version of some Bach pieces with the album Joy- Apollo 100 by Tom Parker. I have some Flute concertos from Bach as well, but no Handel. I’ll look into that since Handel seems to have had a bit more staying power.

Hey, thanks a lot. Happy thhis was interesting to follow 🙂
My knowledge of Bach is probably a bit better than of Handel.

No way! Have you ever been there?

@@murdockreviews Many times. Primarily during our England years of 78-84, most recently in 2007. Utrecht's Dom Tower was a repeating theme in our home decor. I think she had at least 6 different drawings, paintings and art pieces of it.

@@GSPonsonby That's cool. A freind of mine studied in Utrecht for a year in the mid-00s. We visited him for New Year and managed to have a firework explode right in the middle of the dome tower which is open at the top. The locals were cheering ;-)
The dome tower has recently been renovated and is now open again to the public I've been told (no connection to the New Year's Eve anecdote!).

Great video, thank you for the recommendations!
For people just getting into baroque music, I'd encourage you to listen to performances of the same work by different
musicians or groups and compare them. For example, here are three different versions of a movement from Handel's Water Music.
    ruclips.net/video/MVUeDpfzxbQ/видео.html
    ruclips.net/video/fUhcVPatYk4/видео.html
    ruclips.net/video/EVAB2z1RPu4/видео.html
In the first one, the piece is played at a faster tempo, compared to the other two. The third performance opens with the flute playing solely accompanied by the theorbo(?) and has the orchestra join in on repeat. In contrast, the second performance opens with the full orchestra, but is more subdued when repeating the first section. In my opinion, it's always interesting to see what kind of choices the performers make, and how those choices can make the same piece sound (sometimes dramatically) different.
Anyway, sorry for writing a wall of text 😅 please keep up the good work!

      @@enteranamehere3242 thanks a lot.
      Excellent comment.
Interpretations and different conductors/orchestras of course also play a huge role in the reception of classical music. I don't touch this issue in my video, since I simply don't know enough about that aspect.
So thanks for your additional information/suggestions!
