just so you know that when you mix different coloured shrimp, their offspring often turn into wild colours. I recommend to transport shrimp to your tank with a cup/container so they wont attach to the net
Yeah when I owned shrimp from a pet store, we got a few cherry shrimp and mixed in a single Vanilla shrimp, it bred with one of the cherry shrimp and the babies were orange! They looked so cool with their cool new color
from my experience, wild color shrimps only appears if the parents come from different genetic tree, you can find the genetic tree on google. so blue + yellow can get wild, yellow + red can get orange, for weird reason yellow + yellow can get green.
Hey Luke, I recommend you let the moss grow in the tank for the shrimp. Even if there's a huge root network from the pothos, guppies will eat baby shrimps, and they will hide in there along with some of the smaller baby guppies.
Very good video Luke. Amano shrimp get rid of algae. Also since you put them in a tank with lots of hiding spaces you very much should see lots of baby shrimp like hundreds if the guppies don't find the baby shrimp. Cherry shrimp and snowball shrimp also eat algae
Wow beautiful shrimp. I'm so jealous. I have a sorta sad but funny story about my last shrimp. I got the ghost shrimp from Petco. My husbands family was staying over in the winter they are used to hot climate of the Philippines. So they had the heat cranking in the room the shrimp tank was. Few days later I noticed my shrimp were orange. 🥲 they just got cooked. Poor guys. 😭 a lesson learned for the both of us. Next ones I get. That will not happen again. 😢
You’re gonna have a lot of different variations in those shrimp! I have red cherry shrimp and some blue ones and some with red and white like a candy cane and now I have some fully clear ones and some weird color combinations!
Amano shrimp are really amazing clean up crew they’ll eat a lot of soft and hard algae why neocaradina shrimp (colorful shrimp) will only eat some soft algae
Those are all called "Neocaridina" and they can all mix genetics. I love them, you can cross orange and blues and get greens but the best emeralds and jades will be rare.
@@MaximilianBriones what you think and what others have done are two different things my friend. I keep Neos, I've done the experiments and selective breeding.
Not impossible tho, he needs to have marine salt and a sustainable culture of saltwater algae + rotifers tho, or he can just get saltwater from the nearby coastal area and the amano larvae will be fine as there is already a plethora of small organisms the baby amanos will feed on in seawater, after they go through a few molts and look like miniature adults with greyish coloration they can be acclimated back to freshwater, I personally know a few people that managed to breed them successfully by doing this
water top offs need to be mineralized with kh/gh+ and RO water. i like to add some aquarium salts also because they are sensitive to the change in minerals but the salts help them to shed parasites from their skins
we don't know the mineral density of his ground water or the contents. Copper Ions are terrible for the shrimp and there are probably copper pipes in his system. all of the chemicals used to treat the water have an effect on the shrimp and because he is not doing water changes these chemicals are going to build up. A lot of breeders do water changes religiously because it coaxes the shrimp to molt which leads to pheromones attracting the males to the females. if you have too many males this can cause a lot of stress on the females. Water with ridiculously high TDS can also inhibit the shrimp from a completely successful molt, which often can lead to death.
Luke love you bro i feel really jealous of you as you have cute goldies, caring wife and you yourself hardworking. As a northeast indian we have to buy goldies for high cost and ranchu are not even available(sad life) as a goldfish lover. 🫶make more content i feel really good to watch your long videos and shorts you are like medicine for me which heal my heart

@LemonGuy-h8oYes but after many generations they lose their colour and return to their wild colour.
Yeah wild colors are just brown and they blend with their surroundings

I told you Luke will become a shrimp fan. Only a matter of time before the shrimp only tank becomes a reality
Shrimp will turn a gray-brown colour after a generations of put together
Congratulations now you have brown shrimp! Hahaha

if you get some that look dead, you can put them in bubbles and sometimes resuscitate them.
very nice shrimp!

Hi bro I’ve been watching your videos for a while your content is the best!
Glad you like them!
1:05 idk why I expected him to say it hasn’t been changed in over a THOUSAND YEARS.
Lol
Do you think that the plants are enough for handling the new waste by the shrimps?
Yeah shrimp barely produce any waste
Amano shrimp are really amazing clean up crew they’ll eat a lot of soft and hard algae why neocaradina shrimp (colorful shrimp) will only eat some soft algae

Omg! Finding green in nature other than plants always makes me happy. Just checked them and they look gorgeous!
All of them except the amano are neocaridina
@ ye i posted while watching so i added a shit load of extra comments
@@VoyeurOfMisfortune i dont think thats how it works, orange plus blues will give you ugly clearish ones with specs of colors

Hey Luke 👋 I recommend a karambit to open boxes☝️It is an assassin’s weapon, but also a great box cutter 👏
Brother, I love your work
Keep going. I want to see more shrimp
more vlogs! 🎉🎉
get banded kōkopu, they are really cool fish and can do good with goldfish
You can put some moss in the baby goldfish tanks, they might like some room to hide
At 12:03 there was a little fish in the net
I loved the red ones
Idk why him saying mixed race had me laughing 😭😂
One shrimp, two shrimp, red shrimp, blue shrimp
Amanos will sadly not breed in there they need brakish water. all the others will tho, nice tank

WOW they will breed like CREAZY in this big nice aquarium in a few months your gonna see some babys
And props to apple shrimp 🎉
Luke's Shrimp now? I'm sure shrimp breeding much more difficult than goldfish and guppies but you'll probably be able to figure it out.
Can you name one of the shrimp FunkyJon?
( I tried to see about a fishy )
Just so you know Amano shrimps are extremely hard to breed so you probably won’t have any baby amano shrimps :(
Not impossible tho, he needs to have marine salt and a sustainable culture of saltwater algae + rotifers tho, or he can just get saltwater from the nearby coastal area and the amano larvae will be fine as there is already a plethora of small organisms the baby amanos will feed on in seawater, after they go through a few molts and look like miniature adults with greyish coloration they can be acclimated back to freshwater, I personally know a few people that managed to breed them successfully by doing this

shrimp
Bro do any of you know how i can get my shrimp to breed? They’re in a 10 gal with some harlequins btw ,and yes, there are hiding spaces lol
quick question how long have you had them
Sometimes you think they have died but they are just molting. Dont remove them. The dead shrimps are good food for the others.
Hi
Luke to breed amanos you need saltwater uou have 4-7 days to get them to saltwater.
Keep the shrimp seprate from each other or most the babies will be brown and the ones that aint will lose their colours
And dont put the shrimp water back in
Early
Day 4 of asking for you to get a predator for that tank, like a catfish
