Excellent and most informative speech! Also a big slap on those who are "slaves of English language" as this proves that many Indians are brilliant, internationally acknowledged scholars who have their basic education in their first language@ mother tongue (local Indian language) and have learnt English in few months to be a scholar in their chosen subjects and fields.

I am so glad, so very very glad you and your fellow gurus are taking the time and making the effort to enlighten our younger generations with a need to reconnect with our unique heritage. As in the matter of economics, so also in the physical and biological sciences, our younger generations need to revert to our foundations of enquiry into the nature of our universe. I have made the necessary efforts in those directions, and feel qualified to cintribute, in whatever capacity the country needs. Having graduated from IIT Kharagpur, with a PhD in biochemistry from Canada, and the experience of my seventy years, I wish to contribute in anyway to bring our sciences back to their traditions of enquiry and discovery. Thank you. Sincerely, chibber@nd.edu

Today is 5.5.2018 and even after nearly 6 YEARS your Own BJP leaders/members seemed to never listen to this. Our Honorable Prime Minister Narenedra Modi ji may be thinking to bring India among the most Powerful Economy in the world but mostly none of the colleagues and members .Let them listen to your speech NOW even after the lapse of SIX YEARS to get an inner awakening ,apart from being members and politicians, that they are also Indians and doing something to every part of their Motherland ,from East to West and North to even SOUTH ,inclusive of TamilNadu,is their UTMOST paramount duty.
Preserving our Hindu traditions, values and Culture is the most important to be done right now next to protecting their skin and heart and should never go with class-less political parties and should scrap them with fiery iron hands.
Every human being is to be treated alike as an individual human only irrespective of their background ,affiliation and caste mostly very evenly and India should NEVER be jeopardized by any threat and rebuke inside from any communal and political forces and outside by any kind foreign invasion and India needs to be shielded thru the ancient way of defense system known as saama, dhana, bedha and if not possible the Dhanda Method to bring peace and amity in this great Country called Hindustan aka BHARAT BHARAT MATA KI Jai

Sir, it was a excellent speech, There is no doubt our social and economic structure is commendable. I have some questions. You were giving stats for the last 1000 to 2000 years quoting the GDP of india, China vs Us and England.
Only in 1500 Columbus discovers US and England ares is 130,000 sq km only which is very small as compared to India and china. obviously the settlement or migration to US happened after 1500 to 1700. in 1800 Industrial revolution in the west changed the face of europe which india failed or neglected to use. In this case how can we compare India and china which is a grown up society with huge land and human resources with US and England.

Thought provoking, particularly the fact that more traditional countries go for bank deposits compared to riskier stocks, also articulation on family and behavioral economies is soundly explained. However I disagree with bank based economy, Indian economy and societies have always been market driven and all our values including religious aspects are accumulative and semi capitalist in nature. A mixed economy that distributes home equity and not just wealth to all people involved is better suited for India. Instances are let people run cargo railways for profit like a cooperative societies under competitive markets, Indian jugad mindset will bring bring value as well improvement in infrastructure. Excellent job.

I think even bank driven economy is also not that sustainable
examples are collapse of Spain and Italy
yes it is more rigid to sustain, however if inflation goes more than interest rate this model fails, which is what happened in Spain( where now 57% of youth are unemployed)
The solution in my world is a hybrid society. why not majority of saving in bank (say 50 or 60%) and rest in equities commodities and other smart investment
    just a thought

unfortunately Shri Gurumurthi needs western studies to understand Indian economy of the past. What is his idea behind these talks? Just to tell history? Emulate Japan or Germany? Japan attacked US and got nuclear bombs as reward. Even then they could foster quick trade relations. We are yet to develop such relations with neighbours! Society needs risk takers also. Government should bother more about what is lagging in India. In India people belonging to government, authority are holy Bulls. It bulldozes any thing with out any responsibility and escapes Law. This is most required of India. By the way Germany produced Hitler.

    • @pratiekbhadranavar707

+Healt Wealth Hey man, can't you look beyond it? Anyway the current caste system has been in vogue only since the last 400-500 years or so. If you read about Hindu scriptures from authentic scholars like Swami Vivekananda and not Western scolars, you will understand. I saw your comments in the other video also. Thats what this man is saying isn't it. Get out of Western understanding of Indian culture!!

    • @MsBollyman

How many of us dare to marry in another caste? Can Brahmin marry a dalit or vice versa? Or at least think of it?
Can Dalit or anyone other than brahmin become a poojari in Tirupati?
To read Veda (although nothing in it) you should be a "Born" Brahmin in art of living in Bangalore.
Mostly Brahmins dont want to see the caste problems, they see it as dotted line. because caste system helps them to survive through varies means.

    • @RhetoricIndian
      @RhetoricIndian 8 лет назад +1

How many of us dare to marry in another caste? Can Brahmin marry a dalit or vice versa? Or at least think of it?
Intercaste marriages wont solve the caste issue. Even if many people do not mind it that much these days. I have 3 out of my 6 cousins married from other castes personally for example.
The reality is that other caste hindus are more restrained on this note than brahmins.
By the way, why dont you ask "can a devar or naiyakar or chettiyar marry a dalit?" why only brahmins? LOL!
"Can Dalit or anyone other than brahmin become a poojari in Tirupati?"
Why should he become a priest? what is he trying to prove by that?
The very person who created the existing system of worship in Thirupathi namely ramanuja had initiated thousands of people who are not born brahmins into reading vedas.
For that matter, ramanuja's guru himself was initiated by a dalit.
Apart from that, do not generalize brahmins as a whole. The priests in temples are called sivacharyas or battacharyas (generally called gurukkal) who are brought up from their birth in certain disciplines of learning to do the pooja in the temples. Not every brahmin can enter the sanctum or the garbagraha. I am a brahmin, but I stand exactly where you will stand in a temple because I am not a gurukkal. This is not a caste distinction, this is based on knowledge and qualification.
You wont be allowed into an operation theater. Only a doctor or a nurse will. But you will get the cure as a benefit. If you want to go inside, then become a doctor before you complain.
"To read Veda (although nothing in it) you should be a "Born" Brahmin in art of living in Bangalore."
So you know there is nothing in vedas before reading it?
If yes, your statement becomes just an assumption.
If you read it and then knew nothing is there in it, then are you born a brahmin to read it?
If yes, then it falsifies your own statement.
"Mostly Brahmins dont want to see the caste problems, they see it as dotted line. because caste system helps them to survive through varies means."
It has never been the brahmins who initiated or participated in caste based violence even when it happened in the past 300 years to be precise.
Who created the zamindari system? brahmins or muslims? note that zamin is an arabic word.
And tell me, what percentage of brahmins are getting benefited by "various means" by the caste system?
If you mean by serving in temples, then go and ask a pujari in any normal temple how much he makes each month. Leave thirupathi or such big temples they are just a small fraction of the entire gurukkal community. They get 1800 Rs per month from the government and live off of whatever falls in their aarathi plate. Still they do it because it is their culture, tradition and dedication.
No other brahmins than gurukkals get money from outside the brahmin community for rituals.
The reality is that the caste system has abolished brahmins from earning material wealth. So they are in fact violating it in a sense by going to jobs. But nothing else is practical.
On the contrary the caste system you say brahmins venerate and nurture has let them without govt jobs and college seats.
Do not speak without knowing the facts.

    • @MsBollyman
      @MsBollyman 8 лет назад

Basically you are telling me gurukull have less money, I am so sorry. There are unfortunately poor brahmins as well as they compete with rich brahmins.
Another reader was telling in the form, caste is created by British, now you are telling Muslim, that's easy. You are also telling brahmins are more knowledegable? On what? Saying in a language no one understands?
Appropriate things around in not considered facts, my friend.
Was that a joke you compared a surgeon to poojari? I want to know what he Mr. Poojari dissects there, I have not seen any surgeon do surgery for free though!

    • @RhetoricIndian
      @RhetoricIndian 8 лет назад

      Seena Karunadu "
Basically you are telling me gurukull have less money, I am so sorry. There are unfortunately poor brahmins as well as they compete with rich brahmins. "
Look at the point to which I was replying before drawing conclusions. The earlier comment stated "they dont allow others inside temples for making money or the brahmins maintain the caste system to get money from other castes."
So I explained the reality, that the temples are not minting money as many may think.
And your point, "There are unfortunately poor brahmins as well as they compete with rich brahmins" exactly explains the basis on which people must be seen, economical condition and not their caste.
"Another reader was telling in the form, caste is created by British, now you are telling Muslim, that's easy. "
This is a vast topic so it needs a bit more clarity of explanation.
I did not say the caste system was created by muslims. I only said that the land gifting system introduced by the muslim rulers created the vast difference between so called vaisyas and sudras in the community.
Neither did the other person say britishers created the caste system. They simply made it very rigid. What existed as a communal system became a social class division.
This is something that the britishers are used to in their own society, that is the priests, warriors, knights or lords and peasants.
They applied the same dye to our varna dharma system and made it a rigid and social class difference.
In addition to that, they added this Aryan dravidian nonsense making it even a race based division.
"You are also telling brahmins are more knowledegable? On what? Saying in a language no one understands?"
I am saying the priests who serve in temples have been trained for doing it from their childhood. So they have the know how to worship in temples per the tradition. Which does not make them more knowledgeable but knowing something that is needed in a temple and hence they do the job as appointed.
If you dont understand something then it is not worthless either.
"Appropriate things around in not considered facts, my friend."
What do you mean by the above? Rephrase this sentence.
"Was that a joke you compared a surgeon to poojari? I want to know what he Mr. Poojari dissects there, I have not seen any surgeon do surgery for free though!"
It was a morbid note not a jovial one.
It is very unfortunate that we are ready to accept a western technology so readily while we think there is nothing meaningful in the temple based traditions and worship.
The very structure and rites involved in building a temple is a precise technology known as Agama Sastra.
And this agama sastra combines with silpa shastra, the making of a deity in the form of an idol, after which, the agama continues to expound on the installation and the methods to keep the deity as a channel of grace.
This is actually as complicated if not more so than any western science. All it will take is some reading or speaking to sthapathis or some old gurukkals who know these things.
This will be the effort you need to put to understand the intricacy of the techniques used and their meaning.
If you are not ready to know your own culture but are ready to trash it, then you will become a cultural orphan. Which is what we are heading to with all these divisions and mutual infighting in the name of caste and hatred towards particular communities.

It is customary for Indian to talk great about India.
Mr.Gurumurthy appears to be a 'headline freak'. He is visibly happy that the US social security system is going to be bankrupt, and they are hoping for a miracle.
The truth is, the number of jobs to pay for the past retirees is paid into by today's work force. The assumption is that the number of workers would continue to grow for decades to come. This assumption was made in the 1930's. It stood the test of time for a good 80+ years.
Now, due to globalization, the employment grew in China and India - at the expense of US work force.
The problem is, India and China cannot sustain that employment number if US cuts the manufacturing / services in those countries, and chooses to employ its own. Or, putting it in another way, the US can progress into new technology that will keep the growing.
India is yet mired in old religious traditions - cannot grow unless it progresses in science and technology on its own.
Little does Mr.Gurumurthy seem to know that the stock market crashes in the US are cyclical. It is likely to grow over a period of time.
For example, the market has regained most of what it lost in 2008.
Japan which crashed in late 80's is still limping - because of too much savings.
So, Indian are better advised to do their due diligence.

+ranga rajan And it is customary for apologists talk ill about India. We need more employment due to much more than normal population. But there is also a good ring to it. It's the country with youngest population, whole world is going to need us, provided we make good out of this opportunity through skill development.
You're certainly living under an impression that you have more knowledge on economics than Mr. Gurumurthy.

I disagree about the gender issue. The overwhelming majority of Indians want a boy child and SO many are aborting female babies that it has become law. When this speaker denies such clear facts, it is difficult to take him seriously.

sorrybhai100 Look up the statistics on how many females are being aborted in India. Do you not know there is a law in India against finding out the gender of the baby for a pregnant woman?

+Umar AlFarooq he never said indians dont like girls or not. its a common known problem but saying indian traditional society is root of all problems is wrong. when a listener dont listen to a speaker who present the actual facts, its easy to lose temper
