      Thank you Neil! Yes, we stayed at the Marriot.
      I did get into some great action with a large GT and a couple of MJs at the river mouth during outgoing tide. Will post video next week. I'll try and contact you for more info. I'm back in India now, but will go there again. Did try a bunch of places between Mirissa and Galle. Will try the other side towards Matara next time I'm there.

    Do you put your rods on travel case while traveling on plane? And how long is the length of your rod?

    • @LivingOutdoorsWild
      @LivingOutdoorsWild  2 года назад

      PVC tube. The longer rod was 9', 2 piece equal section. So, the tube was about 60 inch long and about 4 inch wide

    • @LivingOutdoorsWild
      @LivingOutdoorsWild  2 года назад

      I was using a Major Craft 7' Basspara BXC-702H rod. This rod is rated for 12 to 25lb line and 10 to 40 gram lures. Hope that helps!

      No need for any license to fish from the shore in saltwater in Sri Lanka.

      @@LivingOutdoorsWild there is a big concrete fishing pier in weligama(adjoining weligama fish market)..its only about 1.5-2km from the Hotel you are staying at. this would be a good place to try too. i have caught GT there.

    • @LivingOutdoorsWild
      @LivingOutdoorsWild  2 года назад

      I fished that place only once. Didn't catch anything there. Had one small strike on a jig and that was about it. Too many boats were around and I didn't fish that place again. How big was that GT you caught?

    • @LivingOutdoorsWild
      @LivingOutdoorsWild  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hahaha... Jacks are used in the USA to refer to Jack Crevalle and some might have even carried that term to GTs (back in the day) . Snappers are commonly referred to as Jacks in the part of the world where I caught them. I'm sure you know all this already any way :)
