Hi uncle Lee. Tq for your amazing vlog on your trip to Japan. Just wanted to ask you a question. Notice that the base of your trip is at Nagoya. May I know why you chose Nagoya? Is it more convenient & cheaper? I have been to Japan 3 times & our base was always from Tokyo. Tq for your sharing.
Good morning Rebecca. Flying into / out of Nagoya is always cheaper than the other cities in Japan. You can check the fares in SQ website. Moreover, Nagoya is very “central” to the other touristy cities in Japan. If you look at the map of Japan, you will notice that Tokyo is to the right of Nagoya, Osaka to the left, Takayama to the North, etc. So besides being a cheaper destination to fly into, being so central is really helpful if you are planning day trips to further cities. You can start the day early and end the day late… without having to drag your luggages from cities to cities.. and a lot of times, you can only check in after 12pm or 2pm.. so you do waste a lot of time changing accommodation. Hope that this help to explain the reason why we got into Nagoya.

@@rebeccalie8043 some destinations SQ a lot cheaper than MH 🤣. I remember paying RM2200 for round trip from KL to Nagoya. Our transport ministry very screw up!
Our group mainly wanted to do shopping / eating and see less tourist attractions. They are not interested in Osaka castle, etc. A day subway pass is only ¥600 and the extra for the Santa Maria is ¥1000. Aquarium not covered by Amazing pass. So doing the maths, it it cheaper to just buy the 1 day subway pass + (aquarium/Santa Maria) separately…cheaper by ¥1200 per person this way.
