TJC really plays this character so well, he totally owns it!! My heart belongs to this male lead. How I wish they would end up together, that Xiao Yao would be able to see that he loves her so much no matter how much he tries to scare her away and plays tricks with her to hide his feelings. I don't know if I'd be able to watch season 2, and watch him died! 😢
There were many chances for Xiang Liu but he chose his duty to his master. Xiao Yao and Jing fought to be together. You will understand in the end why she chose him. Whatever a man gives to a woman because of love should not be the measure of who deserves who. I personally believe that Xiang Liu and Xiao Yao are soulmates. And if given another lifetime to meet again without owing anyone their lives, it is likely they would be together. I admire the strong love between Jing and Xiao Yao but in the end, I cried for Xiang Liu and Xiao Yao. There was a time when Xiao Yao acknowledged his feelings. Whether you watched the series or read the book, you will find in both that it was always Xiang Liu who refused to face his own feelings. And if you have watched closely enough, you will understand that's not how Xiao Yao is. When you watch something, even without reading its original form, dive deeper into every character. And don't just judge as an onlooker. It is always better to be immersed than to step on the water's surface.
