Love all the woodturning content your putting out! I just started woodturning about a month ago and I am enjoying it and learning new things from many RUclipsrs including you!
I didn't even notice your tool work so you're already pretty good with the gouge - you always been a fast learner ? Ha, floral glue gun - I thought you were using an icing bag at first. I do like your taste in glue gun decor Drew. -Mike p.s. I was hoping you'd invert the bowl, add a pointy finial, and call it a Prussian helmet. But it does look very nice as a bowl 🎨🏆 And so delicate 😃👍
My neon pink glue gun was down for repairs, so I had to use my backup ;) And now I feel like I missed an opportunity to make a WWI replica! Maybe next time hahaha
Yeah I've heard there's a lot down there. Glad to know it's not just me thinking it's really hard. It felt like my tool was dull after one pass sometimes
When I first lived in Oz 40 yrs ago I was given some timber to work with (eucalypt) It was Iron Bark, it was so hard you had to pre drill just to drive a nail in. I went through lots of drills when fastening brackets to a lintel made from iron bark. But there are many species, all locally known as "Gum Wood". Some of it makes really nice furniture.
WOW great bowl with a fantastic finish. Does the wife know you stole her glue gun????? Really cute. You have really got the new bowl gauge working for you.
Cool. What resin did you use. Like that method. Never seen people use resin that way. Usually they put it in a compressor tin but this way seems allot better. How long do you leave the resin in the cracks till you can start cutting away at the wood again? Thanks.
Amazing. I loved that its live edged and that its also thin. One question about the resin, did you use a pressure pot to push the resin inside the crack?
Wow. That's the first piece of wood in any of these woodturning videos that actually looks stylish. Great work.

Lovely grain , delicate bowl , a truly beautiful result .

You must have one huge cupboard with a lot of bowls!! Another great job man!!
Haha I do. I've started to give the decent ones away, and the rest stay on my shelf of shame!
Excellent work! Love it!
Nice bowl, good grain and nice live edge.
Thank you!
At 10:18 the edge has a heart shape. Pretty apt since it's St; Valentine's day tomorrow. The finished colours are splendid. Thank you for sharing.

High quality hand made. Cheers

Can’t believe you were able to get the sides that thin. Nice job.
Thank you
Very nice indeed!
Thanks Jim!
I wonder which tool produces the most curly wooden shavings those are so satisfying to watch💯💯💗💗
Avery nice bowl. Cheers John Humpy Humphries .NZ
Thanks John!
Dam that’s satisfying I love it!

Thank you!
Stunning

Beautiful buddy! Hot glue for resin walls...love it! Haha
Thanks !
What kind of wood was that, where did you find it, and was it dry??????? I like it.

Danke fürs zuschauen! I am always hesitant to use resin and try to avoid it, so I understand different tastes on using it!
Great looking bowl my friend.
Very nice.
Thank you
Nice Job
Thank you!
Super vidéo
Thank you!
WOW great bowl with a fantastic finish. Does the wife know you stole her glue gun????? Really cute. You have really got the new bowl gauge working for you.
It's my glue gun! Custom design ;)
What type of lathe are you using? What was the product you filled in the cracks with?
It's a Jet 1221. And I filled the cracks with epoxy resin

Bellissimo complimenti, la soluzione per lucidare è olio di paraffina/vasellina?
Need to learn how to use a bowl gouge and how to prepare a blank for turning. You need to rub the bevel, it will make all the difference and be safer.
Need to learn how to read
Amazing! Fantastic! 😀
Thanks Drew!
Beautiful work! What type of finish did you use?
Thank you! I used a few coats of danish oil on this one
Nice work! Beautiful finish too. What wood is that?
Thanks! It's euctalyptus
Very nice! What finish did you use?
Thanks! I put danish oil on this one
Great job and great finish! What species of wood is it?
This is euctalyptus. Only part of the log so I should be able to make one or two more things out of it!
@@CookWoodworks Looks great, I have never turned eucalyptus, very pretty.
Amazing. I loved that its live edged and that its also thin. One question about the resin, did you use a pressure pot to push the resin inside the crack?
Thank you! I didn't use a pressure pot this time, but the resin pouring was spread out over 3 days so that I could get all sides of the bowl filled
Cook Woodworks I’m guessing because the bowl being thin, you dont have to pressure it since its going to reach the inside of the bowl
Exactly
what kind of wood is it? It looks astonishing!
Thank you, it's euctalyptus
New subscriber here! Looking forward to more videos. Question: what kind of wood was this?
Thanks Debra! This wood was euctalyptus
Hello, you work wonders! And where do you get the blanks(wood) for your work?
Thank you! I mostly get my wood from fallen trees or trees that were cut down for landscaping
@@CookWoodworks what kind of wood?Do you have a birch tree growing? Here in Russia local craftsmen make a similar beauty from birch bark
and so it is very interesting to watch your videos
아주 좋아
Beautiful bowl what kind of wood was did you use.
Thanks! It was eucalyptus
Thanks for letting me know I had no idea how beautiful the inside of an eucalyptus is.
Claw Market Bowl
You make it look too easy!
Thanks Micky!
❤👍
Thanks
👍❣
😁
That sure is a purty glue gun you have there
Is it Mesquite?
Euctalyptus actually
I switched of at the grinding of the cracks and pouring of the resin. Use better wood if you're going to be so fussy about it.
*off. Use correct spelling if you're going to nitpick a stranger
