i'd only seen it in japanese until now, and as much as i hate the english version, that scream just caught me so off guard, like of all the horrible things they do in the english version they might've made up for it just with that
the Italian version of the scream is freaking hilarious!!!! it sounded like he said sandwich I need a sandwich!!! my chest hurts from all the laughing!!
Honestly, English was much better imo. Gaara was screaming because he was afraid. He had believed himself untouchable up to that point. The sight of his own blood shattered that belief. He was screaming because he began to honestly fear for his life. The English version portrayed fear best. Again, this is just my opinion.
Japanese: AAAAAHHHH!!! CHIGA!! ORE NO CHIGAAAA!!! English: AAAAHHHHH!!!! BLOOOOOD!!! IT'S MY BLOOOOOD!!! Spanish: AAAAAHHH!!!! ¡¡¡¡SANGREEEE!!!! ¡¡ES MI PROPIA SANGREEEE!! I can say that the first 3 languages were better than the others.

Gaara, however, is easily one of the best castings the series has to offer... and this scene impressed me, because the raw and primal nature of his terrified scream was captured with perfection.
+Borjan Kosarac I actually watch dubbed Naruto, and I think it's a lot better than people think, it's one of the better dubs out there in my opinion, it's not the best but it's pretty good, in fact the only voice I don't really like is Naruto himself, and Orochimaru's voice is perfect to me, it sounds so creepy which is really fitting for his character, and what lol? It seems like u haven't watched the dub in a while, because none of the Naruto villians have quiet, raspy voices like that besides Orochimaru, hell the same guy that voiced Orochimaru voiced Zabuza, which is his natural voice, and Pain and Madara have eargasmicly deep voices, Kakuzu and Itachi as well, in fact when people say the dub voices are bad, I usually tell them to listen to Pain or Madara, the villains voices are so good in the English dub lol
Allan Wyllie I was not suggesting ALL the villains had such voices, only that I personally prefer Orochimaru's deeper voice in the Japanese version to the English - I will give you that his voice IS menacing and appropriate for his character, it's just that for me it seems a little cliche given the snake motif and such which doesn't feel the most realistic approach (then again, Kishimoto himself wasn't exactly subtle with the villains in the early days - he had a thing for making villains LOOK evil, and even admitted that the Akatsuki were originally going to ALL look especially monstrous before that was toned down considerably)... I didn't know the same guy had done Zabuza, though now that you mention it I can indeed see it. As for Naruto, I'll never stop feeling the dub miscast Maile Flanagan in the role (a grave mistake when it's the main character and so you have them appearing the most) - whereas Naruto actually sounded like a young boy in the Japanese dub (pre-Timeskip, of course) and could be genuinely endearing, Flanagan went for a voice that was TOO annoying at times and didn't feel... right. The funny thing is, before they cast her apparently they'd thought of actually getting a REAL pre-teen boy to do the voice; while I'm unsure how well that would have worked later on given boys' tendencies to get deeper vocals, I think I would have preferred it overall... So I'm more likely to just go sub instead of dub (though I'm actually MASSIVELY behind on the anime in general, admittedly). Still, I will admit to the dub being fairly solid so far as Jap-Eng dubs go - it's not the best out there but it IS well above average overall (I'd score it higher if not for the main character's voice). Some of the other actors also surprise me in the quality of their performances, especially those who I'm familiar with in different roles - I knew Crispin Freeman as Jeremiah Gottwald before I saw him here as Itachi, and Yuri Lowenthal as Sasuke is impressive given the sheer contrast to most of his other characters (read: NOT like Sasuke). I can't think of other specific examples, but I'll give them credit for solid performances as a whole
English is the only one I can take seriously and that's thanks to Liam O'Brien's brilliant voice acting. Seriously! He's the PERFECT English voice for Gaara! :D
Holy crap, I had NO idea that was Liam O'Brien! One of my favorite voice actors, and yet I still didn't recognize it. Now THAT is a sign of a brilliant actor.
The Mexican Spanish one scared the crap out of me, it was so startling! but the English one, Gaara sounds unhinged and disturbed! With the Mexican one my brain goes "Oh shit, someone just got hurt!" like watching someone slip and accidentally break a bone, but with the English one my brain just goes "WTFWTFWTFWTF IS HAPPENING" like NOONE should be making that noise, EVER!

Kojote Maybe because they were too sensitive and they would be afraid that Naruto and Naruto Shippuden would receive negative critisicms like German parents would forbid kids watching that anime because they thought that it's too violent.
The actual background is even funnier. The German TV station broadcasting Naruto decided to censor it in order to get the permission to send it during the afternoon. He literally says: "What´s...what´s wrong with my body?" since they thought "blood" might sound too cruel.
