Thank you so much this is incredibly stunning and gorgeous too.... I really really enjoyed watching you create this amazing necklace. Brilliant and beautiful too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Just a word. I've never been successful bonding raw clay to another piece of raw clay that has mica powder on it. I think that sealing it with UV resin is what does the trick here.
@@grittykitty50 Yes! There are many pitfalls in polymer clay work. I followed the instructions of another artist to adhere a mokume gane veneer to an layer with mica powder on it and my work was ruined.
Another beautiful idea your creativity is amazing and so inspiring thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and ideas your ability to create out of so little use of clay is outstanding I just love your work 😍❤️
I like the technique for getting the ripples. I notice that the rippled translucent layer doesn't like to stick to the mica powder below. Have you tried a tiny amount of Bake&Bond, or liquid clay, brushed on the back of the translucent pieces before they go on? Sometimes I find that I have less trouble with the mica powder when I do that. I can also see using the lack of stickiness on purpose. Taking thin shavings of a texture, and then rolling them onto another sheet that's covered in mica powder would give you a much softer version of the original texture, like your ripples on this project. Then the shavings will come right off before baking, leaving the rippled surface behind to be the surface of your piece. I have some dichroic glass earrings that have a rippled texture like that, and I bet that this would be an easy way to replicate that.
Thank you so much dear Diane for your interest to my creations ! I have to try your great ideas ! I was experimenting in my video and noticed that it was difícil to work with mica powder . And I think would be nicer using pearl clay for this project. I think that liquid clay will collect the powders . But I have experimenting with it 🤔😃
Hey! I absolutely love the way these turned out!! I love how much you experiment in order to find new and beautiful techniques! I'm trying my hand at adding uv resin to my finished designs. How long does a bottle of resin last for just adding it to the top of a pendant? I want to try this technique out next time I clay. Thanks for sharing your gift with all of us!!!
Thank you so much, Terrie ! I am so glad you like my experiments. 🙏 100 ml of uv resin ( hard type) will be enough for your very many pieces if you will use the brush of uv gel finish (nail art)😉
New subscriber here--this is a beautiful technique and I just happen to have the supplies needed! So you know what I'm doing today! Thanks for the tutorial! ☺
Thanks! I think your layers with the foil would work better if you use liquid clay right under the foil and on top of the transparent. Because it looks like it is falling apart. Maybe it’s not. I appreciate your videos. Thank you.
Just getting to your wonderful tutorial now. Love your ideas and techniques. Thank you so very much for sharing. Would you mind telling me what you are using to spread the UV resin? Is it a nail polish brush in a bottle or something else? If a nail polish bottle, did you paint the bottle black so the brush would not get hard? Thank you again.
It is the brush from the bottle of uv/gel nail finish. I safe my brush in the bottle to have always ready to work with. Thank you so much, Anna ❤️So glad you like my work
Великолепная работа, спасибо... Еще я хотела бы вам посоветовать посмотреть работы Helene Jeanclaude. Возможно они могли бы вам подсказать еще какие то идеи для работы...

Probably the resin and the border she added after the first baking that was adhered with liquid clay.

I buy everything on Amazon 😊
If you have access to Ebay and Ali Express, these are good websites for mica powder, cutters and resin.
What is the acrylic pad your using called?
