My big brother took me, in his '74 Cutless Oldsmobile, to the drive - in theatre to see this. I was in 7th grade and hadn't seen any of the previous films. I was intrigued by the Television commercials of the kids trick or treating at sunset and knew the "Donovan" song "Season of the Witch." I enjoyed it immensely and "fell in love" with the absolutely adorable Stacey Nelkin.😍

This film is totally ridiculous, yet somehow still fun to watch. I think if the second film hadn't had Michael, then the anthology idea would've worked much better. Having the second film as a direct sequel does set up expectations, though. They should've had the Michael Myers mask as one of the Silver Shamrock mask selections.
Mindhunter was awesome. It was like a whole season of Zodiac.
The original concept of the anthology was that each installment could spin off as many of its own direct sequels as it wanted.

Halloween is a fun franchise and stuff but i would've loved to see their plan through by having a spinoff in the halloween universe every year. I'd still love if they did it today, maybe as a netflix show or some shit. I dunno i'm a bit drunk

J it actually is her! You were right. Nancy Kyes is her real name. Stage name is Nancy Loomis. She played Annie Bracket in Halloween (1978) and is in this movie as the doctors ex wife. Great eye!

Okay so I watched the movie along with you guys,for the last two commentaries I just listened to ye guys because I have seen 1 and 2 but I always skipped 3 because of no Myers but decided to watch this with you this time, although I can understand it might have been annoying watching this in the theatre thinking it would be more Myers, this movie wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be,really annoyed me the way it finished tbh not knowing whether the kids really did get it haha as always though keep up the great vids guys,ye are awesome!!

Saw this on the day it came out and was expecting myers…...it made me mad because I love the myers story but this movie was good so im okay with it because Michael was dead at that point.
I don't regret getting out in the heavy rain that day to see it but I still prefer myers.

I have loved the movie since it came out and back then you had to say, “It was an okay movie, would have been better with Michael Myers.” LOL! But I couldn’t see it in theaters because all my teenaged step sister’s friends refused to take me because Michael wasn’t in the film. But when it came on cable I was there!! And I loved this movie and I do believe it would have been great to follow Carpenter’s idea for an anthology series, but name have named it Halloween Anthology or something else. Calling Halloween III was a bad idea. A totally entertaining film. Best Mike line in this, when Chalis says, “I could use a drink,” and Mike says, “And some ass.”
I understand people's disappointment by not seeing Michael Myers, but H:III is much more compelling than most of the halloween sequels (I actually dislike the entire Cult of Thorn trilogy). It's just so odd that the film couldn't be green-lit without the "Halloween" title in the film's name. Carpenter put out The Fog, which has a very similar vibe to Season of the Witch, and it seems like he could've produced it under that title alone, with his own name.

I enjoy the fuck out of listening to you guys commentating on movies you guys really help me get through every single bullshit day at work. And by the way I really like this movie I personally think it’s one of the better entries in the series. But of course people back then were such salty bitches who couldn’t be open minded. I really like the I idea of bringing the sacrificial roots of Halloween to the modern world and using corporatism and consumerism. I think if this movie was just called season of the witch and not Halloween III I think people would have appreciated it for what it is.

WeWatchedAMovie yeah no problem, and I really like this movie but if it was just cold season of the witch I would’ve liked it even more and I think fans would have appreciated it a little bit more if it had nothing to do with the Halloween franchise. But it is what it is.

Halloween 3 is probably my second favorite Halloween movie of the whole franchise. I like they're involving the holiday more in this movie than any of the other Halloweens. I know Michael is sorely missing but honestly id prefer the anthology idea than sequels that shat on the Michael myers mythology (H4-H6)
When Halloween 3 came out I remember thinking I knew he survived especially with Friday the 13th part 2 I believe was around about the same time they both were around 1981 and 1982. I had to have like 11years old. I remember seeing the first HALLOWEEN on regular tv channel 4. The second I believe I went to the movies with my older cousins. But Halloween 3 the trailer seemed pretty good with kids in costumes walking trick or treating I remember one dressed up like a witch. So obviously I couldn't wait to see it again I went with my older cousins to see it and was watching and waiting 30 or 40 minutes in we are looking at each other and saying what the fuck is this ! We weren't the only ones. We got up walk in the lobby and spoke to some of people that worked in the theater. I learned a valuable lesson that day make sure to pay attention and read. If my cousins and myself would've actually read the poster and actually paid attention to the trailer we would've seen that the movie said nothing about or hinted to MICHAEL AUDREY MYERS. I think seeing Moustapha Aakad name( and I know I spelled it wrong) through people off. Halloween 3 was an ok movie I can say that now but I saw an interview with Moustapha years ago he said he should've not named it Halloween 3 he said it should've been just Season of the witch and I agree.

Its a great classic. It knows its just batshit crazy and doesn't care. Even as a kid i thought this movie was just awesome. Never knew why people hated this movie. I didn't mind that myers wasn't in this film. The concept and story of Halloween 3 is actually fucked up and scary if you think about.
