Mine bend so bad it won't boot with a after-market cooler and with the stock cooler it hits 100c in seconds and throttles to half speed.... Possibly last time I ever buy intel(unless amd will end up making the same mistakes) I'd rather have AMDs hot power hungry cpus that atleast don't bend.
That's really strange. Could you tel us the exact cpu, cooler and mb? I'm really interested to know more since I planed to get alder lake, but not sure anymore.
@@MissMan666 hmmm not sure about power. I first wanted to get 12400f, But I was like, ok alder lake is bending, let's get some am4 AMD like 5600(x) and found out that many users are complaining about usb problems when using gen4 pcie. Even after lates Bios updates. So, maybe I skip this generation, and wait for am5. I'm really sad, because I was crazy into that 12400f
I just finished 1 week adventure to make dual channel memory working with with asus z690 mainboard....... less pressure on cooler screws and adding washers under cpu holding mechanism helped. Junk i must say.
@@malpigwalt so the system still alive and working well? you tried to overclock memory? any new errors\blue screens ? ive been thinking about buying a deformated 12100f and use it with thermalright lga1700 or washers
As a mechanical engineering student going into this industry, this was a great video to stumble upon. Thanks!
The latch system has been around a long time is it Because the LGA1700 is a bigger chip?= more area to bend?
Mostly because it is a longer chip. with more force (each pin has the same force needed. so going from 1200 to 1700 pins adds a lot of force)
I wonder if the excessive heat generated by these 12th gen CPUs also plays a role in the warping?

Ehh, AMD's CPU are generally more power efficient.
@@markodimic I'm pretty sure it was a Asus b660 gaming wifi g or something with a i3 12100.

I wanted to get 12400f with Asus tuf b660m wifi .
So you probably saved me headache and money . 🍺

@@danilaer2551 Yep all works good. Without washers was problems, with all working well, memory overclocked.
