Is it possible to get replacements of the forward section of the outer barrell from anywhere? Anyone know? Interested in modding one to give the look of plain muzzle with bayonet lug beneath, ditching the muzzle device.

I carried the South African version the R1 while in the SADF along with the Galil Thinking of getting one Is it good out the box or does it need work ?
Hey mate, owner here, out of the box it'll work fine but for creature comforts there are a few things that can be useful to do, I recommend watching "explosive enterprises" video on this gun as he shows how to fix these, i'm a bit of an ape when it comes to D.I.Y but they're very easy to do. Hope this helps
Well as I've had the pleasure of using the real steel, it looks over worn in my opinion it wouldn't be as bright as that and what's with the brass🤔 still a lovely build though 🤗
Depends on age, cleaning... I have a deactivated G3 that's almost brown/chrome. If it's been used to fuck for many years & continually de-rusted, they become almost polished gun metal.
Hi fella, owner of this fine piece, can say so far nothing internal has broken despite some fairly rough treatment, only real problem was a roll pin in the fire selector shaking out and stopping me from using anything but semi, however that was a fairly easy fix once i got home :)), will update if it explodes or something 😂
Not the particular conflict I was exactly going for, however RLI is on the list because short shorts and good camo is great for a summer kit, plus it's a very iconic image for the FAL (literally on the box for this gun) nothing to do with Racism buddy, just like how the many, many people who do ww2 german kits don't go home and formulate some zyklon B for the local Synagogue. But then again maybe you're just that type of person who panics as soon as you see something that isn't a poor impresson of a us soldier on the field 😂, because as we know they never did a bad thing ey?

@@TT8437-g3s Can confirm, camo is effective, decent even in eastern europe. Summer should be ideal. Have the fireforce venture repros, they are nice (though they can wear quickly - which can be a plus if you want the battleworn look).

Standard with an aftermarket steel outer barrel as the rear half comes as aluminium stock
