100% agree with your "tells" for a soundcard masquerading as an interface. I was hopeful for this one too...someday...
It’s gonna happen. I have one on the way that looks promising
which do you recommend between the neo geo 1 or whatever this thing is called or the fifine SC3?
The sc3 is a better device IMO
Does it have an internal Battery? I didn't see any battery level indicator.
No internal battery - the c1 neo is much better
I want to get into content creation. I was looking at getting the maono mic and mixer kit for $130 which is the PD200X dynamic microphone and the G1 neo but after watching your review I'm having second thoughts. You seemed to like the noise reduction on the neo which is a big factor for me since my room is very noisy. Do you have any recommendations on a mixer around that price point $60-$70?
Bro I bought a sound mixer from moano paid $80 bucks. Its was ok but if felt I was missing something. I finally realized that I was gonna need another device to go with it for video. I did my research and the Streamer X was what I needed. With tax was able to get it off amazon for $380 but it will be your all in one bro…good luck with your content creations.
It really depends on what you are doing.
If you yourself have no need to hear exactly what your audience will hear…and value the noise suppression above all. This will work well
It does work, and it has some good options….it just has some really big cons FOR ME
This maono device is better IMO for $50

@ObscureMics Awesome thank you, I plan on doing some streaming and making some gaming youtube videos. The streamer x seems to have everything I would need but it's a bit out of my price range. I'll save for a few months and probably pick it up. Now I have to do a deep dive on mics. I've already watched you videos on the fifine k669d, PD200x, and the feel world PM1.
Thanks again and keep making awesome reviews. they are really helpful
Thank you for saying that
Honestly until these "streaming mixer interfaces" can sort out proper latency free monitoring, they're DOA. What good is added features like sound pads, line in, etc. if you aren't accurately hearing back what you're outputting?
Bingo Jose…bingo. With good interfaces starting at $50…these devices are indeed dead on arrival
@@ObscureMics yeah features are fun, but let's focus on at least matching the Behringer UM2 with monitoring and a decent preamp and go from there
@JoseOnTheAir this reminds me…I need to do a creator connection on this channel with you. You are spitting fire lol
You just saved me like $50 on Amazon. I was thinking of getting it but it reminds me too much of a crap audio mixer you reviewed that requires the 48V of Phantom Power to always be on for microphones to work. I now use that mixer as a background RGB prop. Waste of $20 but at least the RGB looks nice.
That’s a great idea to use these things as background candy. Glad you saved $50….i gotta try to recoup half of it at least 😕
BTW from what I understand the Vocatser 2 is pretty tough to beat for the money. I don't know about any Vocaster issues or which models the issue(s) may be applicable.
The vocasters won’t go above -3db output….like there’s a permanent limiter on. Which bothers me 0%
@@ObscureMics I personally don't understand why this is an issue. That being said I am just learning about audio. At this point I figure if the levels are loud enough to be heard clearly with being limited so that ithey do not get too loud then I don't see where the issue is. It seems it would great for those new to content creation and actually help them to make sure the audio is workable with little experience. But like I said before I am just learning myself.
@@knowyourjoe8826 I’m on that hill will you…. I think most consider it to simply be broken sing you can’t distort it if you want to.
ive had it for a week . i upgraded from the maononcaster lite big difference now that it has xlr
There’s just so many options now
BATTER, BATTER, BATTER, SWING! ... and....... they struck out. LOL I actually like the design of this and the RGB stuff... ya... I admitted it... LOL. In one way I don't get why these companies do not design and make these devices to meet functional requirements. I would imagine there are plenty of sources for real world quality input on those requirements. I suspect it is a functional difference in how they process information based on their culture and understanding of how they perceive "how the world works" or "what the world wants" based on what information is available to them. Gotta remember they are not exposed the unabridged real world. Their information is filtered and censored in some instances. IDK ... just trying to figure it out. Thanks for the information Bark.
I’m 99% sure they are just using the same cheapest parts in new form factors. Which is just awful
"Oh so and so is making a thing like this and we should get a slice if that pie" is the mentality that results in products like this. I wish they would throw their resources at doing something different, even if the resulting product wasn't perfect for us mic nerds it might be perfect for SOMEONE.
That's a good point bro, and it's also something that most brands have to consider. As for MAONO, they developed some good softwares that make their products perform better. I appreciate that.
Here here
if they (maono) erase the pad (voice changer, etc.) and change it all to Macropad function, i will buy it...
That’s not too much to ask
@@ObscureMics yes. excactly 🤣
This seems way better than the FiFine Mixer.
The Fifine to me is simpler and executes what it’s trying to do …. The main factors to me in why I’d go with the Fifine are the Maono having that faded in and out mute button and the maono is a little noisier IMO
The bad monitoring is a deal breaker for me. I don't know why they can't make a device with latency free monitoring. Is that too much to ask? Even cheap mixing consoles can do that.
Shame on you Maono!
Thanks for the review!
One day SOMEONE will listen to
I returned the Fifine and received the Neo yesterday, the G1 is much better.
