    Derek Smith in the 3rd place Mk2 escort was my neighbour around this time. The car was running a naturally aspirated cosworth YB bored out to 2.4 litres. Proper flying machine and one of the first really quick modified Mk2’s in Ireland.

    Now, is that Metro the real thing or one of those neutered versions? It does at least sound like a proper 6R4 to me.
