Looking back I think this was my favourite era for Rallying in general 96-2002.

That Belgacom Impreza is gorgeous. Do we know what came of it? Any good pictures of it floating around?

It was Colin McRae's RAC winning car from 1997. The excellent ewrc site suggests it ended up spending several years in Ireland.

P12 WRC back in original 555 colours. Type reg in youtube search theres a few videos. Looks better in Belgacom livery tho imo.

I think the vast majority of WRCars - especially Subarus - seemed to spend some time in Ireland@@VHSRallies!

The P12 WRC was also used by Krzysztof Hołowczyc in 1998 with the StomilOlsztyn-Mobil 1 team colours.

Young indeed. But by 1998 he was already reigning British champ. Genuinely unlucky to not get a full WRC campaign during his career.

After the C555 WRX, the Corolla is the best looking car IMO

It's a massive shame Toyota never did a homologation type spec for it :( a Corolla GT4 as it were

@@BennyJ69 I thought about 'building' one. But we never got the coupe here, only a 4 door.

My man Freddy at his prime. Damn that crash on the safari slowed him down.

He should have stayed with Toyota for an extra year. Even though they were going to stop after 1999. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evo really didn't suit him. While the Corolla was co-developed by him. I wonder what his career would have been like if he had stayed with Toyota in 1999.

For real. I remember he was barely faster than a group n Evo in his debut on the Monte Carlo rally. Even the accent suited him better.
